Every product in FishChannel’s product review section has been tested by noted Aquarium Fish International columnist David Lass.
David A. Lass has been keeping tropical fish since he was 12 years old. He has been involved in most aspects of the aquarium hobby and currently wholesales tropical fish to retail stores in New England. The Claims
Cobalt Aquatics claims that the Cobalt Submersible Pump and Powerhead is an efficient, simple way to move water around in an aquarium.
The Test
The Cobalt Submersible Pump and Powerhead is a well-established technology. To test it, I simply installed it in a 120-gallon marine tank and ran it as one of four water movement devices I have on two wavemaker setups. More>>
AquaticLife Submersible Pumps

The Claims
AquaticLife claims that its new pumps are designed for use in a sump and that the intake, power cord placement and output pipe make it easier to use in that application.
The Tests
I tested two of the new AquaticLife pumps in two applications, with 976 gph at zero head and 710 gph at 6 feet of head (meaning that the pump has the capacity to pump the water 6 feet up). More>>
