Triggerfish Saltwater Species

Triggerfish are marine fish from the family Balistidae. Many are brightly colored and can grow quite large, with some species reaching up to 2½ feet in length. Some species of triggerfish feed on hard-shelled invertebrates and are not considered to be “reef safe.” Triggers are also known for being belligerent, and some keepers provide them a species tank of their own.
