EcoBio-Planter is made of natural zeolite and crushed stone and contains the same unique beneficial food grade bacteria (bacillus subtilis natto) as found in all the other EcoBio-Block products. Bacteria live and multiply in the planter and disperse into the water every 30 minutes. keeping water clear, clean and healthy and making plants thrive. As the bacteria colonize, they feed on organic waste breaking down the waste into ammonia, then into nitrites and then into nitrates which are used by the plants creating a perfect ecosystem. Additionally, the natural zeolite leeches essential calcium and trace minerals back into the water. This process, which is found in nature, reduces the need for maintenance and water changes by continually keeping a sufficient number of bacteria in the tank to create a perfect ecosystem.
