PetSmart Recalls Several Top Fin Aquarium Heaters

Nobody has been injured, though the heaters pose electrical shock risk.

PetSmart has recalled several models of its in house Top Fin brand plastic aquarium heaters due to risk of electrical shock. The models subject to the recall include all 50-, 100-, 150-, 200- and 250-watt Top Fin brand plastic aquarium heaters. They are black in color and are 1.5 inches in diameter, and 13 inches tall.


The models subject to the recall include all 50-, 100-, 150-, 200- and 250-watt Top Fin brand plastic aquarium heaters.

The model numbers are HT50, HT100, HT150, HT200, and HT250. The lot numbers for the recalled heaters are 839, 1901, 1903, 1904, 1907, 1908 and 1910. The model number and wattage are printed on the side of the heater and below the model number is the lot number and the words "Made In China.”


If you are using any of these heaters, please discontinue use and return them to your local PetSmart for a full refund. Contact PetSmart at 888-839-9638 for more information or visit the PetSmart website.
