A man from Wisconsin has built what is probably the largest homemade fish tank in North America, according to a report from the Kenosha News. Bill Wann constructed a 24-foot-long, 10-foot-wide and 10-foot-deep 20,000 gallon reef tank that features 160 fish and corals.

Wann also designed and built all the pumps, piping, filters, and sumps that keep the system running. He started building the aquarium in 2006 and then built a house around it. The tank features 12-inch concrete walls and 2.5-inch acrylic windows that measure 6 feet by 10 feet. The 20,000 pounds of rock came from a mine in Montana and the 2,000 pounds of sand was flown in from the Bahamas. The tank is controlled by a computer that Wann built and power is ensured by backup generators. Check the video for more on this 20,000 gallon reef tank in the middle of Wann's living room.
