Fish-keeping is very much a global industry today, with manufacturers targeting the international market through trade shows.

Among the new items for the aquatics market that have just been launched at the UK’s major Glee trade show is a range of pond products from Tetra.

“The overall aim is to make it easier to look after a pond,” said UK Product Manager, Rupert Bridges. “This approach is typified by our new MultiMix food blend, which offers several types of food, ranging from flake to sinking pellets in a single product, catering for pond fish of different types and feeding habits living together.”

Tetra has also introduced products geared toward maintaining healthy water conditions with less effort. These include SedimentMinus, which breaks down the organic sludge that accumulates in the base of ponds while encouraging healthy plant growth.

Having previously revolutionized the aquarium hobby worldwide with its biOrb, Reef One scooped the Best Innovation Award at Glee with its marine conversion kit. This forms part of its new Life Collection aquarium range. These rectangular tanks, produced in three sizes, have a clear acrylic front and back, with a glossy acrylic wrap encircling the unit.

Emphasis within the Life Collection range is very much on utilizing the latest technology. It incorporates a slim-line intelligent lighting system that adjusts to allow for sunrise and sunset, as well as having a blue moon phase, facilitating night-time viewing of the aquarium’s occupants. Reef One’s Managing Director, Paul Stevenson confirmed that the company’s aim is to expand the aquarium market by having stores that offer home interiors stock these tanks, rather than just traditional pet outlets.

Great article. I want to start a pond and this info is helpful and these are products I can look for. The biorb article is very interesting as I have been on a Biorb kick lately. I did view the Life Tanks on the website and there are very Artdeco looking. I am looking to obtain a biorb and turn it into a saltwalter tank.
