Fish Cookie Dough and Icing Recipes
If you don’t want to make these recipes from scratch, you can always buy a roll of premade sugar cookie dough or premade icing at the grocery store. If you want to make your own, follow the recipes and ingredient lists below.

Sugar Fish Cookie Dough Recipe
2 ¾ cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
1 cup softened butter
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract

First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Stir together the flour, baking soda and baking powder in a small bowl.

In another larger bowl, mix together the sugar and butter until it is light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla. Little by little, add the dry ingredients into this large bowl and mix together.

Roll the dough out to about ¼ of an inch thick on your lightly floured surface and make your cutouts.

Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Fish Cookie Icing Recipe
While your cookies are cooling, start making the icing. You will need:
2 cups powdered sugar
¼ cup softened butter
4 to 5 tsp milk
¼ tsp of almond extract
Food coloring

Whisk or mix the powdered sugar, butter, milk and almond extract together in a bowl until it is fluffy and spreadable. Add a tablespoon of milk at a time if is too dry or thick.

For finer details of the fish, you may also want store-bought icing that comes in a tube.
