Most aquarium fish do well in the magic temperature range of 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, but there are some exceptions. Some fish do better in cooler water and some should be kept very warm. Here is a list of those fish that are exceptional when it comes to temperature.
Coolwater
Goldfish (Carassius auratus auratus)
Koi (Cyprinus carpio carpio)
Room Temperature
Danios (e.g., zebra danio, Danio rerio)
Most ornamental shrimp and crayfish
Some Corydoras catfish
Scleromystax species of catfish
White clouds (Tanichthys albonubes)
Weather loaches, a.k.a. dojos (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus)
Paradisefish (Macropodus opercularis)
Catalina gobies (marine) (Lythrypnus dalii)
Can do OK at 78 degrees but like it warmer
Cardinal tetras (Paracheirodon axelrodi)
Bleeding heart tetras (Hyphessobrycon erythrostigma)
Hatchetfish (Gasteropelecus spp.)
80 and Above
Bettas (Betta splendens)
Wild-caught angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare)
Wild discus (Symphysodon spp.)
Rams (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi)
Clown loaches (Chromobotia macracanthus)
Datnoids (Datniodes polota)
