Choosing a New Saltwater Tank

Looking for a new saltwater tank? Considering buying one for the first time? Many of us end up with several tanks or tanks we “used to have” because we never really thought the purchases through. A few minutes of thought can save quite a bit of time and money down the road. Before you purchase a tank, consider what size, shape, material (glass or acrylic), circulation, cover and livestock you want. Considering these options first will help you find your perfect tank.

Tank Size
The primary factor to consider when purchasing a new tank is size. The size dictates what types and how many fish we can keep. Most of us would probably choose a larger tank, but there are pros and cons to both larger and smaller tanks that go beyond our pure desire.
