Highlights of a Trip to Gabon

Ctenopoma species make up just one group that can be found in Gabon.

On my birthday, I had an unexpected invitation from Allan Brown, a well-known killifish specialist. He has also made several trips to Malaysia with his wife Barbara, where they have collected many new species of Parosphromenus and Betta. How did I feel about accompanying them to Gabon? I needed no excuses to visit the home continent of my favorite genus, Ctenopoma, in one of the last remaining rain forest habitats.
