A Day at a Fish Farm

Here’s one example of what a typical day is like at a fish farm.

Almost all the freshwater fish at your local fish store have been commercially farmed, either in the Far East or here in the U.S. (in Florida). The center of the tropical fish farming industry in Florida is Tampa, with tropical fish being one of the major sources of freight revenue for the airlines flying out of Tampa. To help you understand what fish farming is about, we’ll take a look at Scalare Hatchery, a family-owned business located in Gibsonton, just outside of Tampa.
