Yes, there is always a couple extra kids around wanting to play and looking for snacks or supper. At least it is summer and the kids take off to the beach and get outdoors more. Hello!
what a busy but mostly fun weekend! Wow! So, did a bunch of errands for the parentals on Sat. Then Sat night the old man hits me up with wanting me to take stepmom to her dialysis 3 days a week. After stressing about it all night cuz I'm a fool like that, I came to the conclusion that no, I cannot do it, I'm not equipped to handle her at all as you well know and so tonight I told him I just couldn't, too much responsibility and I'm not able and he actually understood and agreed with my points. So that was easy. And bf's car is still at the mechanics so I get to stay home Monday, YAY! I need it too, wow did I mention I had a way busy weekend? But got lots of flowers and got most of them planted too. Everyone who came today was super nice and overlooked the mess in the backyard and focused on the flowers and they were all so nice about it. Not being able to rake and bag means there's a mess back there, but life is life and we all aren't snobs so it was a great day. Mo had lots of fun, as did we all. In the morning, Loki and Goose helped me plant and garden, and Loki LOVED rolling in the dirt until he was tan...and he had a ball stalking bugs etc and tackling Goose. Then something spooked him and ZOOM, into the house he went, not wanting to go out again but happy to watch from the patio door hehe. He got about 1.5hrs outside though so he'll sleep good tonight. Me too I hope, I'm worn out! Oh, and I'll be off and on all week cuz I'm getting a new OS for my 'puter and so things will be chaotic while I get it installed and learn my new stuff. Getting Linux Mint Cinnamon so that will be fun, I'm always game for learning new stuff. I guess kid free weekend was just wishful thinking on my part. haha. They went swimming yesterday and then played in his room. We got some rain last night and cloudy and wet again today. Well I always speak too soon. His friend just showed up. It is a nice day, but clouded over. We bbqed some hot dogs last night. Jake went swimming after school. 2nd Hello!
So, on to other news. My stepmom comes home from the nursing home this morning. I am happy to say with my arm and having bf's car at the mechanics, I'm glad I didn't have to do anything for them this week. My dad kept putting me off and then bragging about the expensive service he found so I'm going to let the new company enjoy their antics for a high price since it was not really benefiting me anyway, he always promises but never comes through and bf is fed up with it. Not that I wouldn't help, but to always dangle a carrot and make me jump through hoops, that gets old quick. Having no income means I need gas money when I'm driving all over the valley, otherwise is comes out of grocery/pet money of which we have short supply of lately. Bf was just about to say no more when the old man decided to get some extra help. Which I told him they'd need anyway. I can't help them with more than errands anyway and stepmom is coming home with a wheelchair, a walker, oxygen, etc etc and has to have dialysis 3x a week. Nothing I can help her with. My arm is happier not having to do so much this week. The whole not driving has made a huge difference. It was pretty achy after moving the couch twice thanks to Loki, and all the sweeping etc that had to be done. Today I'll torture the pets with the vacuum hehe. Loki likes to help sweep and mop, but he's not sure about vacuuming yet. At least he doesn't run away and hide when it comes home, just stays a safe distance and studies it. Perhaps he'll learn to use it hehe. Well, that's enough babble from my world. I'm anxious to see your new colorful chicks and all the wonderful things you grow. I've got to retake pics, the ones I was going to send for some reason never loaded into my database, so have to get new ones and see if I can make them appear like magic hehe. It is finally going to warm up here again. Jake says no one is sleeping over so far, wow a quiet weekend. He has been heading to the beach every night after school with the kids. We went to town and out for lunch. Picked up Jake some so got out of cooking again. Did a little shopping and picked up Jake from school. He went swimming after school. I got Bill packed and ready to go back to work. Talked to my cousin and she is still waiting for her Birth certificate and is going to the office today to see why it is taking so long. well, apparently I was so busy enjoying and envying the awesome plants I overlooked the cuteness to be found! I've put in a full day today but all of it was pretty good over all. My bestest friend grabbed me and we did some needed shopping, not much, and enjoyed lunch at my house and had fun being giggly like we generally are. I won't have to drive until Thurs so that's a nice break for my break hehe. My stupid arm is still driving me nuts, UGH! it is getting better, but wow, it's taking forever and I'm just tired of it. Planted some chives and coriander today in pots out back, hopefully they'll be happy and come up. I got about 30 bucks coming back from Home Depot for things that didn't come back so look forward to cashing that in for some new things that will come back again. Most everything else actually did so I'm happy enough with what's going on so far. Got some Wisteria seeds in pots too, hopefully they'll sprout and I can plant them out front on the neighbor's fence. He says he doesn't care, they love color and plants too so anything I want is fine with them. I do have good neighbors, all friendly. Just wish all their dogs weren't always barking. I'm surrounded by 9 total that will bark if a cat farts 3 blocks away. It's very, very annoying some days. but, at least I'm not getting robbed, no one would dare come near this neighborhood as a result. I'm talking big dogs, not little yappers all going at it, but G. Shepards, Bernese mtn dogs, some other lab mixes that are huge etc etc. Mo is the one thing they will shut up for if she finally goes to the fence and lets them have it for about 5 seconds. They all fear the Mo, as it should be. Sometimes she bays and I think it should be a werewolf movie sound effect, cuz well, she is a big scary Rottweiler after all. Well, have much to tell but will have to catch up later. Life is pretty good over all and I'm enjoying my home time, got lots of things done, and lots of reading too and lots of rest, a good balance over all. Yep, I figured I must have misread your blog. I can't imagine you boarding Rufus. He sounds like Kermit and the vet. Kermit absolutely hates going there. And he's only ever gone the one time for you know what. He shivers if we even pass it. Melian, however, likes going there. Lots of interesting smells.

Jake's friend came out yesterday and is staying til Monday. They are off school and have a long weekend. We all went out fishing and then dropped the kids and buddy off at the beach. We didn't catch any but had fun. It was a nice day to be in the boat. Buddy's first time in the boat and she loved it. The kids bbqed some burgers and we had a nice supper. Thanks for the lovely pictures, the pots look beautiful. I did some gardening and sat on the deck for the afternoon. Bill bbqed last night and it was great. My garden is coming along, but way behind yours. I just got some tulips out and some poppies. Jake has never slept any where before besides his grandparents camp for a night or two. oh, I'm looking forward to seeing the new hen and chicks! I'm hoping to get some going around here, maybe this fall. Mo's med bills have sort of trashed my foliage funds but she's worth it. Hopefully tomorrow when she goes back for her all day test fest she will get a good to go result. I'm about sick of all this nonsense now. I'm home today, was home most of yesterday too since bf's car is having some trouble and his a/c has a minor issue so he's feeling privileged that I'm letting him take the Jeep. He even got it washed for me! Took my dad shopping last night, I did score nicely over all and got a tank full of gas. My stepmom isn't doing so great, they were preparing her to go home next week but now she's got liver failure. My mom is looking forward to her weekend with me. She has no clue I'm having a surprise party for her so we're all giggling about it. Hopefully I can get sod for Mo this weekend, this having to sweep up after her every day in every room she lays in is not funny anymore! My arm is doing a lot better and I'm pretty happy about that. it's still got a ways to go but ahhhh, it's on the mend. Well, watering awaits and then I think I might take a nap. Of course Jakes wants more friends to sleep over, seems to be the norm around here. We had a nice day, I mowed the grass and the black flies were terrible. I got lots of hens and chicks in my garden, they are easy to grow. I just don't like how they look when they flower. We went to town and did some groceries and went out for lunch. Bill made it home for days off, so go this laundry done. We may have to make a quick trip to the Soo and get some eye drops for Jake one day. Other than that, no plans for his days off. I only had to visit my stepmom (which was fun), dad was too tired for other chores, then was surprised when I told him I wasn't available today. Was in the 80's yesterday, I got a big of scorch on my cheeks taking Mo out for a mid afternoon walk, even with a ball cap and sunblock. Be in the 80's until I melt, hopefully we'll get those predicted t-storms later this week though. I've got to do some weeding, get some round up down on some of them, & decided to rearrange the patio & bbq area. Try to get some raking done, but not too much, don't want my arm to hurt again. I threatened it yesterday so today it's doing better hehe. Got some decal thingies to go on my Jeeps' third brake light so it will look like the Enterprise when it's lit, hehe & have some funny stickers for the side mirrors that claim 'objects in mirror will be assimilated' hehe. Was feeling Trekkie lately and well, they were super super cheap so I splurged the 8 bucks for all, the guys want some too as more than one came per package of lameness hehe. Guess I should wash the dern Jeep and let the customizing begin hehe. My Jeep is a deep red, thinking if I decide to get personalized plates I'll get RedShirt hehe. I haven't been sleeping, but sure have been powering down the books. I really miss playing Wii. Think I'll have to erase my Tomb Raider file and start a new one. oh, the horrors hehe. My little assistant gets to spend as much summer with me as I want so I'm pretty pleased. she does amazing chores for Wii time so she and I are both super excited. Plus she LOVES to clean fish tanks! Yes, she's a kid after my own heart indeed hehe. She'll be here after fathers day, so finally will be able to get art room stuff and housework as well as poor fish tanks. I am tearing down the sewer tank. The fish all got deformed except for 2, they are the only ones to survive out of the 25 I had, so they are happy in the 55 now. I'm going to change things around, give the black 20 to my bro/SIL, as she's coming next week to help with re-potting (finally) and some yard chores I can't do alone and guys aren't good at. Oh, the Mo, she's now on 29 units insulin and will go back to the vet on Fri again for more all day test. and I'm going to request bringing the test thing home with me and then calling in the results every few hours as I think she just gets way too panicky being there all day. I play lots of hidden object games and have lots on my ipad too. The kids are sleeping so of course I am enjoying the quiet. It rained again last night. We are certainly getting our share of rain. The boys woke up yesterday and the girl was still sleeping. I got them to clean up their mess they made breakfast for the girl and not me, go figure who rules them. Nope, I didn't make it back! I guess I was too tired. I realized when I sat down here tonight that I had forgotten! Oops!
Allergy season is going full tilt here right now. The pollen from the pine trees has already started to cover everything with a fine yellow dust. Including our lungs!
Mostly this has been the most beautiful spring ever. However, last week it took a nasty turn and got pretty cold, several nights in a row. It basically destroyed our tree fruit crops for the year. And the plums were looking sooo good! Very sad.
The garden was virtually killed and we're still working on replanting most of it. We had to go out and buy seedlings. It's too late to start new seeds in the greenhouse. And they were looking so nice!
Well, Mouse seems to be doing pretty well on the vetmedin. It's so nice that something is finally working!
So, how is Rufus doing? Did I understand correctly that you were boarding him at the vets? Poor boy.
I'm glad you like the video and photos. And yes, you can share them with your sister and anyone you want. I know you'll use discretion. We just don't want them getting out publicly.
I caught something nasty last week so now I like to say that I'm in between bugs. Seems to be the case this whole year!

I hope you had a really nice birthday! How's the weather there? It's still really nice here though a bit cooler at night. In fact, it's supposed to be down in the 30s at night later this week. I hope the garden will be okay.
I"m glad that Rufus is doing so well. Mouse is now on 3 medications. We just added vetmedin to her schedule. Tiny used to take that with great success. So, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.
She turned 11 today. That's not old for a chihuahua but in her case...
Well, as you know I finally uploaded the parade photos. I'm glad you like them! Wish you could have been there with us!

Bill made it out in the boat, we stayed home, he caught one bass. We wanted to go last night, but it started to rain, a little rain last night too. It is suppose to rain lots in the next few days, maybe I will let that fill up the pond. I walked over and helped my friend take the protections off her shrubs and we had a nice chat. I'm almost afraid to tell you how much I did today...so I won't. Loki did great at the vet, they were impressed with him. we did have a glitch, their system kicked us out so we were in the room for 45 mins just waiting when I finally went out and asked how much longer. they panicked as they didn't realize we were still there so he got his nails clipped for free and they were all so nice. He's healthy and now weighs 9.60lbs! and we sure like his nails short even though he's not happy about it. Mo was fantastic at the bathing place too, she went right up the ramp no problem, got in the tub and was perfect! They were so happy for her there! Usually it's a wrangle of a mess to get her into the tub but apparently she's decided that she enjoys being clean and pretty and so very very soft. Thurs was nice, the massage was great, I go back on the 30th. My arm is achy today but feels a bit better, if that makes sense. and she really helped my neck a lot, I had an inch more of movement either direction when she got done, ahhh. The plant seminar was great, and I got some more things to plant outside. I'll take pics once they have filled in a bit. Got some nice Hostas for a big pot on the porch that are cream and green leaves with soon to bloom pale purple flowers, lovely they are. Some more pansies cuz I like them and a few other things. I'll be doing a bunch of succulents in pots this weekend for the kitchen garden window and am going to make a terrarium out of a 10gal tank for my orchids so I can keep them in better humidity and out of direct sun. I'll update you and Dot on the yards etc soon. Gaming, yea I'm seriously bummed everytime I look at my Wii, taunting me with it's blue light of addiction hehe. I ordered a tombraider book and hopefully after my next massage my elbow will be ready for some fun. It's been breezy, cool temps, cloudy and nice here. Wish you were here! Bill made it home so I got some chores for him. Me and buddy have been getting our walks in, we are enjoying some nice weather.
