Didnt get frost, but we came close! Was very cold, but it's starting to warm up again. I'm so tired! Got a call tonight, a mama and her 3 baby kittens were under someone's deck. Lucky me had to go rescue them. Luckily mama was friendly, the kittens on the other hand gave me a hard time! So darn cute. They will be going to foster care. Doing volunteer work is like having a non paying job! But it makes me feel good, I helped these kitty's. Well, hope to get some sleep!Come visit me, reeffreak.

we have had some nice cooler weather and tonight will be the coolest. but after that the heat is coming. i just dont like it, hehe. Rufus is doing really well with his meds. he isnt getting too much right now so that helps. when i think he needs more and i add a half pill, he has had an accident or two, but only because i didnt notice he needed to go out. sure hope the meds help Mouse soon. is she on anything besides lasix? Congratulations!
What a perfect parade! Looking forward to pictures! Mo is certainly doing a lot better, funny enough I'm the one having to get a lot of rest, and I'm getting kinda bored. Been catching up netflix by watching Fringe, am almost done with S3 since Saturday. Read a bunch of books too, sadly still can't play video games though. But the arm is feeling a bit better and the knee is a lot better. Won't have to leave the house until Friday, and am looking forward to getting Mo's next blood work done so we can see where the insulin should be. She's loving having multiple meals throughout the day, my little piggy hehe. The rains have been wonderful, and hopefully we'll get some more before the week is done as predicted. Of course, I now have huge weeds trying to compete with my little bits of planned foliage, give me something to do in between lazy moments on the couch. Glad to hear you're all feeling better and enjoying all sorts of fun there! How's Bob doing? Have 'they' finally stopped trying to claim him? Loki is still hilarious, he's quite the character. He and Mo are doing so much better now that Mo is feeling more like her old self. We're sure pleased to see her so perky and frisky again. Except now of course, all the pets are enjoying my being home so much and all want to get my attention. Makes for interesting 'rest' hehe. Rufus is doing much better now. he is getting more like normal every day. how long has Mouse been on heart meds? i dont think we will have to up his lasix for a while. it has really helped. side effects are always a worry arent they.
wow, CONGRATS!! i cant wait to see the photos. those two are just too cute so of course they won! hope you get some rest soon. although i doubt it. you are always busy doing something.

I can't believe that today is Fancy's 5th birthday, I did not spend special time with her today because it is damp, cold, and windy outside. I did spend a few minutes with her after church. I also
spent time just watching Fancy and Trigger. There is plenty of hay to share, but Fancy was chasing Trigger away from the hay. He would pin his ears to look like he was about to make a deal of it, but he still just ran off.
I think my wrist are improving, but still not 100%. I am still having some weird feelings here and there. I will vote and blog much as I can.Come visit me, Sunshine, Dawn, & Firebreather.

Hope you had a happy May the Fourth Be With You day! Mine was pretty good over all. I took Mo out to the park around the corner this morning, around 8:30am and we met a delightful couple who had 2 wonderful dogs, one looks like a cross between a Saluki and an Irish Wolfhound, no kidding! He was a super guy and Mo actually played for over an hour with them! She even ran and got a ball once! Ok, it was only about 12 feet but still! She didn't want to come home either! Had to drag her away after almost 1.5 hours! YAY! She's feeling a lot better and we're all so relieved. I'm really looking forward to photos of the horses and the parade, what fun! Hugs to all! oh i cant wait to see the photos of the parade. and so happy Melian is doing so well. when we got back everything had grown about a foot or two. when i left it was just sprouting. we had a great time up there until the last week. here is how that turned out -
Well we are back and getting caught up. But the last few days of our trip were pretty rough. took Rufus to the vet for a recheck today. while we were up there we had to go to Paulette’s vet. Rufus was coughing. They treated him for an infection, but found a heart murmur and said when we get home we would need to get it checked. Then on Saturday he could walk on his back right leg. So we took him to the er on Sunday. We were there for about 6 hours or more. They did x-rays. They were going to xray his leg and chest but ended up just doing his chest. They said his knee cap was out of socket from the luxating patella he has in both back legs. It wouldn’t go back in so there wasn’t much they could do. they had to stop doing the xrays because he was turning blue, omg! But they found out he has heart failure. They call it that even though they can have it for a long time and still be ok with meds. He is on 3 new meds. Then when we went to the vet today they found out he has ear infections in both ears. My poor boy. So the last few days were pretty rough.
so we are glad to be back. Rufus is doing much better today.

Are the fishing demanding food yet, or do you have to wait to feed them. Are snow is finally melting and it is looking like spring. It has been a long winter, I love summer weather. The fish and dog are doing great. We got a little dwarf african frog the other day, and the kid is taking care of it. Glad to hear kitty is doing well, what did you name him/her? Our sale was great! We raised $800 for the shelter! It's only a small dent in what they need, but it's a big help. I didnt get much chance to relax yesterday, got a call to transport a litter of kittens that were rescued. They are very young and something must have happened to their mama, cause she was no where around and the baby's were dehydrated and super hungry. Maybe I'll get some relax time next week end. Kitties are funny creatures indeed. Nice Melian is getting to know one better. Loki and Mo are getting along a lot better now that Mo is feeling much better. She was at the vet again all day Fri so they could test her glucose all day. She'll go back on the 10th for a blood draw and hopefully get a better idea of what she's going to need but for now things stay the same. She's only on 1 antibio now, got a week of that one left. She's eating a lot better and LOVES the homemade dog food. Loki is hilarious still, he's quite the character. Goose is a brat, I mean, the queen hehe and all is ok with fish tanks too. They all need to be cleaned, glass is all getting pretty filmy with algae but just no time or energy lately for them. I top them off and change filters and that's been it for far too long. My elbow is still healing, ouch, and my knee is better but still tender and annoying. I look forward to getting back to just my neck pain, this all kinds of pain is way annoying. It's also interfering with my gaming, elbow still isn't that cooperative, the dratted thing! hehe. Sounds like your busy! We live in a condo, so we don't have yard work (or poop) to deal with! Just litter boxes. We are getting more donations for the yard sale, and my walls are bursting with all this stuff! I can't convince my son to store stuff in his room, lol. Hopefully they can't keep Bob at their home, which by my definition would mean more than a place where mean people are and pets are loved and cared for. the cat deserves a much better home and well, they go where they like. Great news about Eddie, was worried about that guy! Now for my own bit of worry. Had to rush Mo to the vet this morning, she was there all day too, 8:45a till we got her home about 6:30p. The vet isn't far away at all, like 5 mins. Had a vet that wasn't our regular. I'll be requesting our regular one back for her next visits. Of which there may be many and now the panic is on. Turns out Mo is now also diabetic, so I start her insulin shots at 7am on Sat. She's also on 2 antibiotics, one is a horse pill grouping of 3 capsules 2x a day and a pony pill at 1.5 of those 2x a day, plus now insulin 2x a day and etc etc and well, wow. We almost lost her, but then she ate and they got her stabilized and at first she was happy to see us but then started to pout at me and has been a pouty brat since. She did eat about 1/2 cup of dinner, but I cannot get any pills in her at all. This from the dog who was a model pill taker and would count the treats involved with the meds and sit so pretty and take them, only spitting them out if she thought you were shorting her a snack. I'll try later tonight to get them into her. Her nose is still stuffy, but hopefully that will clear up quickly. Hard to explain to her she needs the Benedryl along with thyroid and antibios. ugh. Not the best day I've had. My son was so worried he stayed home with me today, and bf came home early too, we all love that Mo. Stepson rushed over after he got off work to see how she was too, such sweeties I have. We had to see a vet who was not our regular. We'll be requesting our regular vet for all the followups...Loki did a good job today of keeping everyone entertained and spirits up, he's a great kitty. Goose on the other hand, she was loving when it suited her and well, we are generally beneath her most days anyway hehe. Well, need to try this med thing again and then I have got to get some sleep, after a long night with a sick dog and a longer day getting her stabilized, I'm done in! Well, once again it's been a while since I've been on the site. My wife & I are doing well and enjoying the very recent memories of our California Holiday. We saw an amazing amount of cool stuff! We visited the Academy of science in Golden Gate Park and really enjoyed the exhibits...especially the tanks, large and small; along with the inhabitants. We spent the day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and could have gone back multiple times, if time allowed. They had several temporary exhibits "jellyfish from around the world" and "seahorses"; and the kelp forest is awesome...all 25-30 feet of it's depth. We saw redwoods forests (Muir Woods & Henry Cowell State Forest), botanical gardens at several universities (and on Alcatraz Island), Hearst Castle and absolutely beautiful coastline! We even rented a Harley for a day or so and rode about 200 miles just enjoying the scenery! Made me want to get home to do some more riding; which I've done. Hope all is well and all the "kids" are doing well too!

Oh MY! Poor Melian! What a brave girl though. Did you report the incident to the animal control in the county? That's not acceptable at all! But wow, how fantastic her love of her pack drove her to making sure others were safe. Mo will be very proud too! Sure hope she heals nicely, that's pretty scary. Glad no one else was bit, how scary for the others and YOURSELF! We had such a lovely day, I did a bunch of yard work, planting some flowers, some seeds, raking and weeding just a bit - I'm still nursing that elbow and my neck, as well as the pulled upper back muscle. Yea, I'm a wreck lately, but the sun was so warm and the breeze perfectly cool but not cold and aahhhh, and I'm always happy when I'm plant puttering. Mo has a nasty cold, has had it for a bit now, and while she's getting better, she's still pretty miserable, poor thing. Loki is doing a good job of patting her behind to let her know he cares...she of course isn't so sure about that hehe. He's a riot still, we sure enjoy his imagination and his antics. He had my mom almost in tears laughing the other day when she finally got to meet him. Crazy cat, he's a purrfect addtion! How is your new kitty? How's it going? Everyone feeling better? Not much to report here, just still waiting for spring! We had a couple of nice days, then back to cold and yuck. I'm hoping we have good weather at the end of the month for our yard sale. Trying to raise money for the shelter. Speaking of... wow, thanks for the heads up on DC. Can hardly believe how many pups came by! WOW! I really appreciate the internet, it's nice to have pet lovers unite where no one else thinks they are crazy hehe. So happy to hear you and Eddie are doing better. How's Mouse coming along? and Bob, the new kitty? My mom came to visit us yesterday (she only lives about 5 miles away but we've both had crazy schedules) and she finally got to meet Loki. And pick up her magazines and presents I'd been collecting for her for Easter etc. She laughed at him until her sides ached. And he was on his best company behavior too, told her that was nothing, not even half throttle for him! She agreed his name fits and that he is a splendid addition to our family. And she was proud to have a new 'grandson' too hehe. Well, the day is moving along and I need to join it. Slowly, and not a lot of effort is my motto today. Need to oil my dining room table and take a leaf out - my fave stepdad says my table is like the 'last supper' table, I can feed my army with elbow room to spare as it seats 8 quite comfortably and we've crammed as many as 14 and still had room enough to eat without too much 'touching'...yes, we all still play the 'I'm not touching you' game hehe. Hugs to you all. And I'm still rather planning a trip later this spring, or perhaps early June. Am actually considering a trip with my mom as she's going to be 70 and well, she could use a good day trip and that would be a fun little trip. thanks for the DC heads up, guess I should start getting back on there, at least once a week. I've had a lovely run with injuries in the past 3 weeks, rolled my bicep muscles and had to have those rolled back- yea, that hurt, and then about a week later I cracked the end of my elbow, same arm (left). Since I'm ambidextrous it's not that big a deal but some things I can only do with my left so that's been interesting hehe. It's not really interfered with gaming, I figured out how to prop and use the Wii w/o too much movement or causing any strain on the injured parts. If I could sit still it would be easy but alas, I'm always wiggling or something and then I got up and did a ton of chores on Friday cuz was feeling better and am now very very sorry I did...ouch...hehe. Well, big hugs to you and furbabies and I'll catch up later, just realized the time and have things to do before I can lazy away the afternoon! poor Mouse. i sure hope the meds do level out. i know how hard it can be when they dont feel good.
