Pleco and Filter
By alll means get another one..There are several types but they all like to hide under rocks and things. I nornally feed them the algae waffers, but they willsuck on fish food and eat food that breaks down in the tank. with respects to filtration you may want to look in to getting a canister filter. I find them more efficient and require less maintenance than the hang on filters. I have used the hang on filters on my 50 gallon tanks in the past. I do suggest finding a good store that specializes in aquarium fish. Most of the people that work in places like Pet Supplies Plus don't have a clue of what they're talking about and when they do get quality people, they don't stay very long cause they don't pay them well for their experience....Let me know what you decide,,have a great day, leaving a vote...JerryCome visit me, Jerry.

Yeah- I also have a shark and it tends to be quite aggressive- I actually had to move it from the planted tank to my new 125 gallon cichlid tank that I still have yet to make a FC profile of- Thankfully, he's fitting right in! One thing going for you is that it appears your red tail shark is actually a rainbow shark (redtail sharks have solely a red tail, while rainbow sharks have other red fins, too.) Thankfully, rainbow sharks are somewhat less aggressive, which should be good news for your tetras and co.! Left another vote! Thanks for the vote, and yes, all of my fish are doing fine thankfully. The thing about keeping a lot of fish in a smaller tank is that probably 2/3 of my fish in the planted tank are either bottom dwellers or stay near the bottom ie: loaches plecos, etc... so it works for me to keep some more mid-dwelling fish, too, because majority of the tank is still available for them. Now with your tank, I would say you'd probably be safe with adding some more fish, but just watch the shark, because they can get kind of large.Come visit me, The Epic Fishkeeper 2, Epic Planted Tank, The Epic Fishkeeper & Pumpkin.

Great Tank!
Love the layout of your tank..we have some of the same fish too! Have you ever concidered putting a nice tropical backround on the tank? You can get them in any pet store to fit the size of your tank..they make a big difference! Good luck with your fish keeping!Come visit me, FishyGuys.

Sorry about the lost of your pleco, they are really nice fish...What type of filtration are you using right now? I'm thinking about starting up my tow 50 gallons...one for a tanl like yours and the other for a 5 inch red tail amazon catfish to grow in till he can handle his own in the 200 gallon with the red devils. Been ok. Indigo died a few days ago. I miss him. Only had him for 1 week and 2 days. Had ick which I was franctically treating and all that. Nitrite poisoning too. It was very fast.
