Well you have said that your guppy are reproducing, and it sounds like that is all going well. But I noticed that you have a couple molly. Are they a male and female? You are going to have to get another tank for all your fry. HEHEHE> I set up that 30 gallon. It's big for them now but they swim all over in there and are doing so good. I hope that I will have some platy sold before to much longer so that it doesn't get overcrowded. But I still have an empty tank that I can set up. The females from my first batch of guppy are getting larger gravid spots, so I would guess they will be ready to breed soon. Good luck and keep me up dated. Vote.

I got a couple pair of new guppies today. They are so pretty. The females are expecting. The one is real close to her drop. I hope that I can get some that look like the males I got. How are things going for you? Hope you are having a great weekend. Vote.

So far all I have breed is the live bearers. I have the guppies and platy. They are doing real well and I am having a blast with them. My white blushing angels did lay eggs a few weeks ago. But this happened in the community tank and the eggs got ate right away. I have an empty tank and I am thinking of putting a piece of slate in it with the pair of angels. Just to see what happens. I think that if I fed them a real good mixed diet and did partial water changes every day it would force them to spawn. So far I am just thinking about this. My koi angels are showing signs of spawning, but I don't know for sure if they are a male and female. I would like to try to breed betta's sometime. But not right now. I would like this to be a winter project some year. Here is a vote.

Glad your fry are doing well. All is well with mine too. That gal is coming over to buy some of the platy fry. I wanted them to get bigger, but I should have 2 new drops this week. So if I get rid of a few, that will give me a little more room. She wont want all my biggest fry anyway, as I think there is 25 of them. I am going to have loads of guppies. I think the last drop had 40 or so. They are 3 weeks old and all living.
Here is a vote for your pretty tank.

Here is a Thursday vote. Hope yours was good!! How's the guppy fry? A girl I work with is wanting to buy some platy fry from me. I told her they weren't very big yet, but she still wants them. She had a drop about the same time and only saved a couple. So she wants some of mine to keep hers company.

I am really enjoying my platy. They are such a neat fish. They get along with everyone. I bought 8 a year ago and they are all still alive. Once I figured out that my angels were eating the fry, I now have them in their own tank. So I think it's neat. But on the behalf of my guppies, I have several colors mixed in the breeder tank. So the fun part of the guppy fry is that I never know what colors I am going to get. I know that's not how pro breeders do it, I do it as a hobby. Here is a vote.

I set this guppy tank up this spring. Well it was starting to get warm out so I never put a heater in it. I will get a heater running in it this fall. Anyway now that it is really warm I think that's why my guppies are doing better for me. I had a drop last weekend. I thought I had around 20. But after more investigations I found 40+. I got the fry moved over into my grow tank and all seems well. My platy have been popping out fry too. I talked to my fish store and they said that they would be interested in buying any that I could raise up. So I will have a full pretty tank to watch and maybe with a little luck make a little cash flow out of this. Might help to support my fish habit. lol Leaving you a vote.

I live in Iowa. We have the 4 seasons here. It gets very cold and lots of snow in the winter. Spring brings the rains and mud. Lots more rain this year than normal. Our summer gets very hot and humid. I like fall the best. The leaves turn such pretty colors. It is great to see. We are a farming state. Lots of corn and bean fields. There are a lot of hogs and chickens raised in Iowa. We have a little gal from Des Moines that is a gymnast. She is trying out for the Olympics. Her name is Shawna Johnson. She is real good. We are hoping that she does well. So If you watch any of the qualifing, you will have to be sure to look for her. I better go for now. As you can tell I have the gift to talk alot. I just talked to a gal that has 80+ guppies. She was thinking it takes around 4 months for them to reach maturity. Wow you are a long ways away from here. I am in the middle of the United States in all the flood waters. We are ok here, but it is real bad all around us. I suppose it is pretty nice in Ireland. The pictures that I have seen from there are absolutely beautiful. It's very nice to meet you. Leaving you a vote.

Well I am kind of learning with the guppy thing too. Used to have them as a kid. But we kept so much live floating greenery in the tank, You could never tell how or who was growing. My first 5 fry are probably around 2 months old. The males started to get fan tails about a week ago. From what I read, they can reproduce starting at about 3 months. I would say they will still look a little on the small size at that point yet. I am thinking that maybe at 5 or 6 months old they should reach adult size. But I am doing a little guessing with that answer. I thought my 5 fry came out of my half blacks. But the males are getting real pretty light blue tales. So it will be interesting to see them as adults. Now I have all my colors mixed in the tank, so they are all going to be a surprise from here on out. I have a dandy blue male and a yellow male. I have blue and yellow females. I was kind of hoping to get some purple colors from them. The last issue of Aquarium Fish International has a great article on guppies. Also a good one on platy too. Maybe we can learn together.LOL Leaving you a vote.

Well I do kind of have some new news. I caught a drop of platy fry. Got 30 to 35. They are doing real good. The body is bigger than the eyes now. Hoping to get a 20 gallon tank set up for a grow tank. I had a drop of guppy fry too. There was 12. But then I did a water change and now I can only find 4. I must have sucked some up. I should have been more careful. I just figured they'd get out of the way. Oops! The platy are about a week away from dropping again. It will be awhile before the guppies do. I got the cutest little girl figures at the thrift store. I cleaned them up and plopped them into my big tank. I posted a couple pictures of them on the bottom of my page. Come take a look sometime. Nice to hear from you and I am leaving you a vote.

Nice to hear from you. I have had a pair of silver hatchet fish for 6 months now. If I would have known how nice of fish they are, I would have had them in my tank a long time ago. They stay more towards the top of the tank. They don't nip on any of the other fish. (I have angels with them) The two of them swim together almost all the time. It would probably be better to have 4 or 6 but I don't have room. I was told they will jump out of the tank. So you need a good lid. I have not noticed mine trying to jump. My fish store told me that the silver ones tend to do better than the marbled ones. So that is why I went with the silver hatchets. Here is a vote for you...
