Happy weekend so far!
Been busy with nothing but fun stuff around here. I even got some water changes in, have to say the Python thingy is the coolest gadget, in 20 mins have gravel vac'd, water changed and happy fish in all tanks, much nicer than lugging and sloshing buckets. I wish there was a way to not let the water down the drain though cuz I still use the bucket method for potted plants. I have a zygote cactus that blooms about every 3 months profusely. We have some nice clouds and it hopefully will rain, be good for all the bulbs I see popping up around here. Interesting to see what all is going to grow, never know what you're gonna get with a new house. Guess that's it for now, have to get ready to do some quick furniture moving for my aunt and then getting a project motorcycle for the males in my world. Boys are sure excited, they needed a good greasy project to keep them from bugging me with "I'm bored" chants.

The Possibilities Of A Petite Tank
This is a really pretty tank. I love how you incorporated a 'Nature' themed aquarium. The gravel is really nice and I really like the plants. A piece of small Driftwood wouldn't hurt (but then again, why change what is already good, right). Overall, it is a pretty fish tank with awesome Cherry Barbs (I see some male and female Barbs there) and I see that you added nature's au natural filters: the Clam. oh yea, I'm thinking my future kitchen remodel will have to revolve around that 120 cuz wow, the fun that would be! The breakfast bar is just a junk collector anyway and I get tired of cleaning it off, a large tank would sure end that dilemma hehe. After I get some new fins and a few other things organized in the 55 I'm going to put it back on site. It's still not quite ready for prime time but at least it's clean and all the dern airlift tubes are hidden again! It was looking pretty spartan there and well, just wasn't working with the living room decor hehe. Oh, and the big day is the 30th, so I got lots of time to celebrate and score fish wishes HAHA!

u won't believe what happened yesterday i was in school and all of a sudden the annoucements come on and they tell us that Bain Elementary is coming to (Bradford High School) my school and what happened is that a 2nd grader saw a man with a mask and a gun and so they called the police and had a lock down and they evacuated the school took all the kids put them in my school and before i got out of school they told everyone not to go into the gym area and the commons area because it would be packed and the cops were there and there were camera crews everywhere and when the bell rang they all went it that direction and they got trapped and my sister got trapped in there as well because her class is outside and the outside was packed as well with cars and it was just crazy no one could leave the building because the place was so packed!!!! IT WAS CRAZY!!!!!

Awesome. The natural water we get here in Illinois if VERY hard, VERY alkaline. Indoors, our water softener gives us soft water, and very high pH. I also have a huge container with rain water (which is very soft, very acidic), so I can basically mix and match anything I want, lol. It just takes some time and patience to get it where I need it to be. Sometimes it takes a month to bring pH down, sometimes it shoots down so fast I have to stop water changes altogether for a few. ^.^ It's crazy over here, hee hee.

I'm glad to hear they won't decimate others and their siblings like my convict cichlids! They are absolutely insane to take care of, but it's somehow still fun. Right now my pair wants to breed again, but I still have their three surviving (they went a little cannibalistic/aggressive/negligent after hatching) in the tank with the mom. On one half I have the mom and the fry, and on the other side of the plastic divider the dad. I sure hope the little guys grow up. >.<

I feed them crumbled cichlid flakes (they hatched early December, late November), thawed frozen brine shrimp, veggie flakes, and sometimes all-tropical flakes. Is it too late for them to grow? =[ I'm not sure...they are my first cichlid batch. (My first fry were platys who got stuck at the three-day-old stage for their lives, and the second batch were danios who are a year old and still one cm!)
