Hello
Your tank looks nice. Cute little babes you have..I really like your plants. Someday I am going to start planting a tank. So have you been over to that guys place that has all the fish? I think it would be interesting to see his set ups.. Did I ever tell you that my fish store got in a new kind of swords. They are white with a black speckled line across their sides. The sword on the male are extra long. I would say 2 and a half inches. He has 2 pair. I wanted to buy a pair. But he is going to breed them and raise up the fry. They will be for sale someday. Both females were pregnant. They were just neat looking. He had some fancy long name for them. But I have forgot what he said. I'll talk to you later. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Leaving you a vote..

Hello
Congratulations on the Molly fry. And to the up coming sword fry. It is so fun to have babies in the house. I have a co worker coming over this weekend to get some juvenile platy from me. So that will give me a little more room in the grow tank. I may have to set up my other tank to finish off the platy grow. They take quite a while to raise up. I thought they would be about adults at 4 months. But now it's looking like 6 months. I don't know, maybe longer. So I am off sink on the rotation. I was hoping to sell off the young at 4 months. So I have to re think this situation. Have a wonderful weekend. Leaving you a vote.

A favor to ask? If your bristlenose breed let me know what, special requirements were need. I to also have bristlenoses, and they haven't done anything! I think I might have 2 males, they are still sort of young. so, it's hard to tell. They do seem to squabble alot. Take care !! left a vote!!

I will have very clean guppy tanks. some of my guppies are now big enough to place in the bowl show at the club. last mont I took a 3rd place in the female division. hopefully my males will do something soon. I will try and be on and check on my friends here. and leave a vote! for you in between my school courses. I am short on time so this message will be a c/p... but i will be back as scheduleing allows

Sorry
Ok I am sorry I was totally confused about what tank they were in then. I feel bad now, made you read all of that for nothing. But in any case I am glad they are geting the problem taken care of for you. I have the same algea problem in my African Cichlid tank but I there's not much of anything I can put in there with those big meanies. Maybe I could do some mystery snails, if I could ever find some large enough. And by large, I should really say huge enough! Once again, sorry about that. Thanks for the vote and here's one for you too!

Hello
Thank you very much for your comment on my blue lobster. Yes Rosey Barbs will sometimes eat algea to a degree, but I am concerned about the other fish in your tank. All barbs can be little terrors when it comes to the community tank. They are chasers and fin nippers mostly, so this has me really worried about your swordtails. It may be ok, and I am sorry to be negitive. I hate telling people that a fish might do more harm then good. But if you end up having problems with them and have to remove them, then I have another suggestion for your tank that will eat the algea and leave your fish alone, I assume your trying to avoid pleco's here. You could try a very small high finned banded shark. Sometimes they are called a high finned chinese sucker fish too. But they are not a pleco. And they aren't a type of shark either. I have 2 in my community tank. They are my favorite fish because they are just down right cute! They do my algea control on the plants, rocks, decorations etc. Here's a link that has a pic and some good info on them. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display. cfm?c=830+888+860&pcatid=860
But don't let the size scare you. It takes many years for them to ever reach that size. The larger of my 2 is about 6 inches and I bought him at about 4 inches. And that was well over a year ago. So they probably put on a couple of inches a year. My smallest one wasn't even a inch when I bought it about 6 months ago, and now it's about 1 1/2 inches. If you do decide to get one of these fish at some point, let me know and I will fill you in on everything else you need to know about this fish. Once again, sorry to knock your barbs. I work in a fish store so it's a habit of mine to tell people everything about a certain fish. Take care!

Hello
I'm glad that you got your cultures. So does this guy sell out of his house. Or does he supply to fish stores. Or maybe he sells on line. I am sure this had to have been a thrill to go see. Did it give you any ideas? I got a new color of guppy this weekend. Well new to me. They are half blacks. Top fin and tail is a yellowish color. I just loved them. Very flashy. I don't take very good guppy pictures. But I did post a couple of the new males on the bottom of my guppy page. So sometime when you are on my page, you will have to check it out. Vote.

Hello
Wow, that is a nice score on the food. Just going to see his tanks would be a nice treat. I put a chunk of the frozen into my grow tank today and they went nuts over it. I bought 2 pair of real pretty guppies. Got two just in case I would loose one. lol The female are very pregnant. One is very close to dropping. She is huge. They were in the same tank as the males I bought, so hopefully they will kick out some of the same. Paid $5. for this tiny tiny pleco. I needed another one. The next size bigger was $13. and they weren't even all that big. I figure the smaller ones are very young and should live the longest. Talk to you later. Vote.

Hello
Just doing some early morning blogging while I have my coffee. We ended up having such a busy day yesterday. Got a lot of things done. So I didn't make it to my fish store. It is in a small town about 30 miles from here. Witch for me, that's probably a good thing. So I don't go as often. LOL I am going to call them today to see if they are open. But they are a Ma Pa operation and I think they are closed Sundays and Mondays. So I really don't have my hopes up at all about going today. I have never bought fish or supplies on line. So I really don't know the ins and outs of that. But I am sure there are lots of sites out there to buy things. I have never even hatched shrimp out for fry. I thought I was going to have to, but they go after the shrimp pellets. I have an albino bushy nose pleco. I was told they only eat green and have to have it. So I feed algae disks to him. But when I put those shrimp brine pellets in the tank, he swims right to them and sits. I think he even likes them. HEHEHE Ya my first batch of fry are probably labeled juvenile now. The female are getting pretty big gravid spots, so they too will soon be reproducing. I put these in the adult tank. Along with a couple more from another batch. A half black female and I really didn't pay attention to what the other was. I just new that I wanted these out of my grow tank, cause they look big enough to nibble on any new fry I put in there. Hope your weekend is going well. Leaving you a vote.

Hello
Nice to hear from you. My first batch of guppy are 3 months old now. They look like they are almost adult size. I am hoping the male tails will grow a little more yet. I only fed them crushed up flake food and shrimp brine. I got some that are little balls. When they get wet they swell up. But the fry can bite off what they want. I just found out today that my fish store sells frozen shrimp fry food. I wouldn't mind trying that. I like to feed my fish a variety. I read that flake food is only enough to keep a fish alive. They need the other foods too. I feed adults blood worms. They love that. How are things going for your fish?? Leaving you a vote.

I'VE GOT NEWS
So, I was at my petstore. I was looking at the feeder fish, and I noticed they were sooo tiny. Very colorfull though. So freakin cute. Then I saw one of the little baby goldfish had a fantail. Needless to say, my 40 gallon tank is now set up, decorated, and I've got 10 feeder goldfish growing up. I love the new arrivals. I'll soon have a profile for them.

Hello
I hope you do get some sword fry someday. That would be so cool. I bought a pair of purple guppies awhile back. They were very young. The male died. But the female is doing real well and looks like she is expecting. I am so curious to what color her fry will grow up to be. I have lost a few guppies now. But I have 5 of my own fry that are almost adults. This group is black and blue. I have very young fry from my yellow female and my orange female. So time will tell of what colors I get. Here is a vote.
