Hola Blue
Happy November! Nice looking crayfish. I have one that looks like that too, along with my redclaw. Has he molted yet? My crayfish has molted twice now. The last time he molted, he lost one of his pinchers. I hope it grows back. Voted.

Hi!
Hi there! Nice surprise. Sounds like you have been having fun in the sun! WOW! That’s a lot of sunshine, I’m glad you all enjoying it. Winter sounds terrible though. Here the sun rises at 5:00 in summer and around 6:15 in winter. Sun sets at 17:25 in winter and 19:15 in summer. Still nowhere close to your seasonal sunrise and sunset variation. Its been cold all week, we had temps around 64-68F and then today its climbed to around 75F and its actually quite warm. There’s a bit of a cool breeze, but I think I could get by with sandals and shorts and a t-shirt. That is the nice thing about here; we have nice days interrupted by cold spells that last 4 or five days and then the most pleasant sunny days until the next cold spell. Take care and be well. Kind regards, Stokes

Hello!
Hi there! I’m sort of glad that I lost some of those fish as they were old and struggling to get by. Many were stuck against the filter inlet sieve, unable to steer out of the current. However I lost a white Pseudotropheus socofoli that died after just one week. Seems I have rotten luck with those. My wife was like I told you so, so I told her that maybe she shouldn’t have said it in the first place. This guy died from Malawi bloat, a condition that even experienced aquarists fail to detect and even less likely to treat. My daughter is obsessed with Barney as well and she kind of sings along, but it’s the last word of every verse in the song that she sings clearly with the rest all muffled! Yes, girl children do have a lot to say! It is good to hear y’all enjoying the summer! Here we are having winter. Today was cold in the morning but by midday it was 68F. It dropped to the 40s last night, so tonight we are expecting a bigger drop due to the cold frontal system. I was watching the news and they reported wide spread storms and tornadoes, especially in the Mid West. Sounds like its miles from where you are. Well, hope you get down to cleanups soon, I did my bit yesterday. My discus setup needed a good cleaning. Lately I’ve taken to just changing water, but yesterday I decided to clean the gravel and I was quite surprised at just how much dirt got trapped on the bottom. So tonight I’ll do some work on the African setup. Anyways, you keep well and have all the fun you can while its summer! All the best wishes and regards to you and your family. Cheers! Stokes

Greetings!
Hi! Nice to know you guys having some warm weather. Of course you must enjoy it and make hay while the sun shines. No you won’t lose touch with me, I actually meant to write you yesterday, but I had some hassles with my PC. I’m running Blue Fedora Linux and on that platform I’ve installed VMWare which allows me to run the Windows installation here. Essentially meaning that the machine has both operating systems, but I prefer to run linux and windows on the same workstation at once, very novel thing for us computer geeks to do ;-D It’s been cold and cloudy with rain, which is unusual or this time of year. It should be dry and warm during the day with cold stark nights, but I guess with all the warm tropical air meeting the cold Atlatic frontal system, we got cold and rain. The system will pass by Friday, just in time for the weekend. Otherwise we had some brilliant weather last week, temps in the 70s F, this week we lucky to see that, its about 59-60F today. All my fish and pets are well. My family are good too. I sincerely hope you are in good health and all is well with your family and fish. Take care and don’t be a stranger! Cheers! Stokes

Nice Cray fish, Lobster
Hey there I just stopped by to check out the crayfish I have one aswell.. They called mine a lobster at the fish store, and I've herd the refered to as both, I'm not sure how big a crayfish can get but but my lobster/crayfish is about 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 inches which is bigger than any crayfish we have in Ontario,(sofar as I know). So ultimately I just don't know weather to call Larry the lobster or larry the Creyfish. either way I like your dude too here's a vote

Hello!
Hiya! Nice to hear it is finally warming up! Here it was cold for abour three days, but since today its cleared up and the sun is shining full force with now one cloud in sight. The temperature is around 72F now but due to drop to around 40-50F at night. All in all not bad, but it is early for such cold temps. We usually get this in Jun or July. But it has rained a lot so I guess the ground will retain a lot of cold overnight. Glad you find the snakes interesting. My folks and family are not too thrilled about it and constantly ask me to either sell or give them away. It stems from both Christian belief of Satan's buddy teh serpent who was instrumental in misleading Eve and Adam, and the tribal belief that snakes are evil. Some tribes like the Zulu for example do not like fish as a result, as the fish is deemed to be an aquatic snake (sic). They also consider someone who posesses snakes to be an evil witchdoctor. Anyway we are not exactly tribal and I'm not religious, so I keep them anyway. Just hope I don;t get burnt at the stake or something! The taiwanese beauty will eventually grow to 2-> 2.5m and the grey rat seems to have stopped at 1.8m. Funny thing, salamanders are banned here, they are not native to Africa and hence if they were somehow let loose and breed, our native amphibians could suffer as a result. I was considering getting a boa, but they grow big, need large enclosures and I prefer the medium sized constrictors instead of the reticulated pythons and anaconda types. Mostly because I have seen just how badly one can be injured by one of those! Take care! Cheers! Stokes

Continued....
So in order to cope with the demand, we, the common folk of this country must suffer 4 hour daily cuts, according to a schedule drawn up so that different areas have power cuts at different times. Furthermore, we just now fork up 56% more for power that we can't even rely on, so that the service provider can upgrade their grids and build more powerstations. Its rather typical of a third world country with first world standards. Left a vote. Take care. Kind regards, Stokes

Sanibonani (Hello in IsiZulu)
Hi! Sincerely wishing you are well! Great, so he's still in junior high. He looks like a sweet lighty/laaitie (son- colloquial SA English)! Well, the power is being cut because the sole provider of electricity in this country failed to upgrade the grids and power stations to cope with demand for more power. Apparently they knew about this 10 years ago but failed to recognise it as a potential crisis. After apartheid many international companies returned, more investment in this country has put up the demand for power in the housing, mining, textile, sugar, timber and other industries, as well as business and private homes.

Isn't there a big als online? That would have saved you the eight hour drive there and back for your crayfish. But still, that is worthit. It's one awesome cray. The only crustaceons I've ever owned are ghost shrimp, mine still living at 9ish yearas old. Take care.

Hi!
Hi there! Yep, we look like twins now that he’s also shaven his head! Yep, that would be nice, please post a picture, even if it doesn’t have bears or moose in it! LOL! Well, Friday is upon us again! Its been a short week, but not short enough I’m afraid. The kids will spend their last weekend off school and get back on Tuesday for the second semester. I can’t believe already a quarter of the year gone. So tonight my wife and I will be very busy overhauling the discus setup. Last night I did the gravel cleaning and tonight I plan on scrubbing all the décor and my wife will scrub the plants. She has a soft touch and lots of patience which I don’t so she helps me with that. Then there’s the filters to clean and it will be reset. I really want to try out something else in the landscaping in that tank. Wish me luck! Wishing you a lovely weekend. Take care! Stokes

Hello!
Hi! Don’t need to worry about apologizing, I figured you’re probably busy and you said you were not well. Sincerely hope you had a lovely Easter and that you're feeling better. Yes, Easter is a lovely time down here! Apart from the good food and drink the weather was good too. Usually we have something called a skattejag, which is Afrikaans for treasure hunt, the treasure being easter eggs and candy. Yes, stress used to get me bad back when I wasn’t on treatment. It was especially bad just before we had our baby. My hair was so patchy I decided I was going to keep it permanently shaven, shaving my head at least once a week, mostly twice. That caused the hair to grow again in places where it was clearly missing, coupled with the medication, my stress was lowered considerably. This Sunday we visited the Lion and Rhino park, which is about 15 minutes away from where I live. Its primarily a private game reserve, but they also have breeding programs for large cats there. The terrain is great for all the cats of Africa and tigers too. The pictures are up, so if you have some time, check it out. Apart from that, my family is fine, my daughter is doing very well. My wife and I want to book in at a game park soon, if not, perhaps some time out at the coast. Its been three years now since I had a vacation, so I reckon its about time. Anyways, you take care and have a fantastic day! Cheers! Stokes
