Good news out of bad...
Despite Ina's passing, I like having a female betta in my 10 gal to add color and some topside movement. Plus they're full of personality. Ina set the bar high, but so far the new girl, Metzli, has been measuring up.Come visit me, Dragonland & My First Marine Tank.

Ina (Teteoinnan) died the other day. :(
She was stuck in the castle, later escaped but suffered severe injury. She held on for the next 12 hours or so, but in the end, she succumbed to her wounds.Come visit me, Dragonland & My First Marine Tank.

betta!
since the gouramis passed on, all that were in my tank were the bottomfeeding corys and algaesucking otos. I love them to bits, but it's nice to have some movement up top too, so I added a single female betta. she was freaked out at first (10 gal is a lot compared to the little cup she came in!) but now is very strong and confident... and one of the biggest female bettas I've ever seen!Come visit me, Dragonland & My First Marine Tank.

no, the others didn't die at the same time or even in the same month. it's just been a while since i updated.
I've got 2 Otos in my tank now, happily getting fat on the algae. The first is named Treebeard, after the Ent from Lord of the Rings. I had a hard time finding a second ent name, but after digging thru the books, I found the name of his Entwife, Fimbrethil, and there you have it.
