Yes, I started by testing both sources. The only disolving rocks would have to be the laterite. I'll have to let you know how it goes with the peat. I've used it before, but I as thorough about testing then. Come visit me, FinlyFoglens.

Thanks, that makes me tempted to try as itm is now. I don't usually have a problem controling the PH. I swear by bottled water. Hardness is another story. Something pushes it above the level out of the tap or the bottle. I suspect the laterite I put under the gravel. I'm considering putting a tablespoon or two of peat in my filter. My average PH is 6.5 and lowest GH I can manage is 7.Come visit me, FinlyFoglens.

Hey jfish13! glad to know ya stopped by. :) Thanks for the complement pitbull- most of the water sprite has been moved from my 30gal to the pond cause I didn't like the bright lime green effect. 3rd pic
The third picture was taken a few months ago, but in the same tank. It is a baby platy that was born from a swordtail that a friend had given me. A few new pics...
Ok I finally got some new pics loaded up... sorry for the fuzziness I have a really old digital camera. The first is the best pic I could get of one of my yellow males. The second is the clearest shot of one of four corydoras trilineatus. More pics to come! I've also done a major de-planting of my tank. Heh Heh. Yeah I finally was able to post a picture- sorry fiscofreak. It looks a little messy but that is an outdated pic. Hasn't changed too much though! :D It still needs a replanting template that right now I don't have enough time and don't know exactly what I want it to look like.
