well met fellow at home mom
yeah, me too, we have 2 teen boys, a large dog, a snobby but perfect cat, a wonderful 4.5 ft corn snake and of course, 4 tanks running, and I just found a gorgeous 20 gal that's lite grey for the future blue German Rams breeding program I decided I needed to try. Luckily boyfriend is amazing and doesn't gripe about my hobby. We are avid movie watchers and book readers so I get free reign on most things when money allows. Boyfriend was never a fin owner so this past year has been all new to him but he likes them very much. This month is our 2 years since we met and its been a crazy 2 years full of multiple changes and so far, not one argument, nope, we don't fight. Nice change of pace for sure. We figure if we can survive the merging of our families and living with our sons we can survive anything! Don't do birds, I have an EXTREME phobia of them. All of them. Too funny that I play with the snake but won't go near a bird nest......We would really like a basement. For now we are in an apt, (UGH) but are looking to get a home of our own in the next year or so now that prices are becoming more attainable again in this area. Well, my housework is screaming at me and I really need to remodel the bees tank for the new puffer later this week so I will chat with ya later. I am so glad you found the site, not many at home mom fin lovers out there! Yea, the zebra pleco $ is amazing, and I hope to someday breed some of my own when the time comes. That would be sweet!

ahh, to be a DINK
Feeding teenagers has killed our budget, who knew they could eat so much!?! But now that the last 2 are 15 and no-it-all, we don't have long to wait! Anyway, back to zebra's, I am chuckling a little cuz 65 around here for a zebra would be cheap, I can only find them on the internet and the cheapest was 100. This area is ridiculous for fins, lack of variety and high prices. Coming here from CAL I get really frustrated. (I miss CAL) Yeah, have been looking into what fish I would do with the zebra as the tank would be set up for it first, everyone else will be fluff and filler! That is a far away dream for now though, no room in our apt for a big enough tank. Thinking a 75 would be about right and perhaps try to get a pair and see what may happen. So the only other big fish with it would be a black ghost knife and an elephant nose, those will be purchased small as well and all introduced after the zebra gets to lay claim to the tank. Also planning on lots of wood and rock caves and lots of plants-live and fake, some otos, about 9-11 glassfish and some other pleasant schoolers that are not as aggressively active as danios, more like purple neon emperor tetra and royal black emperor tetras. So, in about 2 years, I will embark on the mission. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know about your experience. Well, enough about me, how about you?

just a heads up
that zebra pleco pic is a fraud, you can find it and some great information about it at this website http://www.aquariumlife.net/profiles/plecos/zebra-- pleco.jpg/100070.asp
I have already sent the information to the site content folk, copyrighted material is illegal and I would hate to see us loose this site due to some person that made up a tank just to get some feel good votes. Check out the name of the city they say they are from, that right there is the first clue. Zebra is my dream fish, have been doing MASSIVE research on them, and would love to hear about yours, even though it didn't stick around! Your avatar is GREAT, and would love to see some oto pics if you ever get them up! I have 5 otos, 2 peppered corys one that is as fat as it is long, looks like a mutant!
