Fish Art Upgrade
Come check out the Fish Art upgrade. I replaced the 45 gal tank with a 75 gal tank. Upgraded the lights, from 4 T5's to 8 and increased the number/size of pumps. Also moved all the soft corals to my other two tanks so that this tank now contains only LPS & SPS corals.Come visit me, Fish Art & Fish Art Frag Tank.

Hi there. Thank you for your compliments and kind words. I’m glad you like my African setup. The tall rock is in fact a plaster cast that is painted and then coated in epoxy. The guy who was selling it came to the pet shop while I was there. The owner of the pet shop had just put it on the shelf and it instantly caught my eye. Sadly its broken in two places on the base, however since it’s the centerpiece, you can’t notice it. It was R300.00, about US $23.00. The rocks in my setup were picked up from various places throughout South Africa. I got some pelindaba rock from Mpumalanga, some large white pieces of calciferous rock from the reefs of northern KwaZulu Natal, a couple of rocks off Table Mountain and some from the Sterkfontein caves. The rock is limestone found here in Kansas. It works great for buffering the water to the correct PH. I don't have to use alot of chemicals now to reach the desired PH and hardness mbunas like.

Thanks for the kind words. Your tank looks great too. I keep my Ph at 8.5. I also use Epsom Salt, Baking Soda and Aquarium Salt at 1T/1t/1t per 5 gallons. I do a 30% water change twice a month and feed Spirolena Mon-Fri. and frozen brine shrimp on the weekends.Come visit me, Riftlakefever, Synophile & Nanoreefer.

My fish do get along. The cichlids sometimes can be bullies but don't bully the tetras or silver dollars. I have quite a few hiding spots in my tank which helps with the bullying. Come visit me, Fish Wonders.
