Hind Sight 20/20 Thank you for your comments... I had no idea when I bought them that the Balas got so big. I now do a lot of reading on any new fish that might join the tank. As for the Balas, they are so gentel with the other fish and they also do a nice job of keeping the white gravel clean. At feeding time they come to the front of the tank and do a little dance... They are really something else to watch and have become part of the family. Hopefully by time they out grow this tank I will have a larger one to move them to. That's the plan at least... Have a wonderful day!Come visit me, TeeJay.

Hopefully the sharks maintain their peaceful nature as they continue to grow! Also, those are Bloodfin Tetras not Bleeding Hearts. Brian, Palatine, IL.

--------- yeah i started out with one lone tetra and watched how my other fish reacted. i was most worried about the the barbs trying to peck at them. and yeah it is better than tv but there is a 42 inch flat pannel lcd hanging from the wall right next to the tank. so i got the best of both worlds.Come visit me, toads r us & diverse tropical community.

my community i have tried to put together a veriety of tropical fish that are semi-aggresive and dont require a high experience level. my balas run the tank, and as of right now the biggest one shown in the picure is 7 inches long. my tetras are neat because they are always in a school. they make every move together. my reed fish( or rope fish) is 12 inches long and spends all of its time in the big hollow rock. the pictus cat all stay under the stump and rock. the peackock eel never comes out of the gravel except durring gravel cleaning. the tiger barbs generally huddle together. the most interesting looking fish in my tank, the african brown knife, glides thru the tank at 8 inches long and usually hogs the food durring feeding.Come visit me, toads r us & diverse tropical community.
