Planted tank
Beautiful setup. Do you have any more pictures? Maybe some close-ups of the shrimp?

I agree in general with regards to how little the RCS add to the bioload of a tank. I also feel how well you maintain your tank plays a big factor. I do at least a 10% water change every week which contributes to the well being of the tank

My 2 cents...
Freshwater shrimp contribute very little to the bioload of a tank...all those shrimp probably add up to one small fish, if that. The cardinals are a little more than I would normally recommend for a 12g, but the plants (which seem to be flourishing) effectively extend the bioload the tank is capable of housing.

I also read the article and I'm looking for some too. But 30 Shrimp and all those Neons (in the photo) sure seem like alot for 12gal though.

Cherry shrimp
I haven't seen the article yet, but I actually breed them myself...I must have hundreds of them that are all descended from the original ten. They're in my planted tank, my betta tank, and a planted bowl that they seem to be doing quite nicely in.

gorgeous plants
I did read your article, and have been wanting some cherry shrimp ever since, but they don't seem to be around this town! Reno is sorely lacking in fish variety, but there's always the internet! This is nice, and welcome!
