WOW! someone that had the very same problem as me. I got it under control by lots of filtration. I did have to do a complete water change. It happened to my 75gal. With two oscars, a featherfin catfish, and a african jewel cichlid. Oscar and LittleRed hasn't eaten little jewel....yet. I don't think they will. It took at least a month. I have 2 dual pequin back filters and a fluval canister 405. Together they work wonderful. Here is a vote.Come visit me, oscar2littlered.

Green water The tank has been up for about 3 months, at first the lights were on for 10 hours total with a 4 hour siesta period, and i was not adding any ferts to my tank, Currently I have my lights set to 9 hours with a 2 hours siesta, it seems to be making some difference, i had started to add flourish to the tank but that seemed to make the algae worse, so i have currently cut that out, I do a 50 percent water change weekly. I tried doing a 5 day blackout period with 60-70 percent canges before and after, it worked for like 2 days. I have resorted to adding some algae destroyer advanced to the tank, which honestly i think is pissing of the algae more, it does kill some. I think at this point my only option is a uv sterilizer, i'm looking at the submersible one, since i dont have a canister filter and cash is kind of tight.Come visit me, Nemos tank & Marius357.

wow that is green i hope you can get it under control, it sounds like a nice tank setup, how long do you leave the lights on and is your tank by another light source like a window, or in an extremely bright lit room, your fish load doesnt sound high, what about your water changes how often do you do them and are you adding plant care fertilizers along with your co-2, oh yeah how long has the tank been setup, i am not being nosey and you may already know what is the problem just thought i would try to help out let me know if i stepped out of bounds with your setup, later, heres a vote for the headache of green water, happy fishin..><}}}">Come visit me, Pittbull setup.
