Checking up on you
Happy belated valentines day bud! You dropped off the face of the earth. Hope all is going well with you, your family, dogs and fish tanks. I've been battling nitrates and phosphates in my tank and have lost a few corals. Kind of looks like crap right now. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hey bud
Sorry for the lapse but I have just been feeling like crap. I really haven't gotten much done at all. Just getting to work and back has takes it's toll. I'm feeling better though. Lots of crap going around. Seems like you just start getting over one bug when another smacks you while you're still down. Nice ice storm this morning and I decided to stay home. Looks like I dodged a potential bullet too because there were so many accidents on the news. The cars were encrusted with about a half inch of ice. Since I have to leave for work at around 5:15 AM, I just couldn't deal with it. I called my boss and asked if I could work a different day instead. I didn't feel too bad because we had no cases on the schedule today anyway. I didn't want to do a hundred mile round trip on ice to do nothing all day. He didn't mind. I have the longest commute out of anyone else who works there. I finally got to do a tank water change. My poor tank creatures have suffered and I feel bad. I ran out of mixed water and the tank's running at about an inch below normal. Boy was there alot of mineralization at the bottom of the mix barrel which is 30 gal, even with two powerheads running all the time. We usually keep topping it off so it hasn't been at the bottom for a long time. I dumped the last 5 gallons because it looked so cloudy and gooky. I cleaned out the barrel but couldn't get all the encrusted sediment out. I'll have to use it all up and rinse out the entire barrel much more frequently. Just noticed that my bumblebee snails are holding another union meeting. They do that every now and then. They all get together in a group and huddle for awhile then go their own ways. Strange. I don't think they're breeding because they aren't increasing in numbers that I can see. I've got some little conch snails though that came in as hitch hickers that are breeding like rabbits. Thanks god they're really small. Enough blabbing for today! Take care.

Hey bud
It's about time you came back!!! Just kidding, not really yelling at you, lol. I know you're busy with schoolwork and all the babes. No I haven't seen Twilight yet. We always wait til movies come out on video. Jack can't stay awake in a movie theater. No matter how exciting a flick may be he still konks out and starts snoring annoying everyone around him. Best to keep him out altogether. I'll be sure and get it when it comes out on video. Finally saw the dark night last night. It was good. Also saw you don't mess with the Zohan with Adam Sandler. It was pretty goofy and funny. I'm starting to get algae now too. My lovely plate coral is in it's last dying throes. I need to get some more hermit crabs to deal with the algae. Good to hear from you and if I don't hear back, have a fantastic X-mas and New Year.

Hiya
Things were so slow on here yesterday that I gave up. I just didn't have the patience. I've got to do some tank water changes tommorrow as well as house overhaul. Morgan is doing better and seems to have alot of spunk and energy lately. I have to treat the cockatoo also. His tests all came back negative except one. So the plan is to treat him for a week and repeat the test. Who's this Jordan you say is your best friend? I thought it was Julia! I can't keep up with you, lol. Any plans for Thanksgiving? I'm going over to Martha's Vineyard where my family is for the day. Another New Bedford fishing boat sank and the captain was lost. The crew of three was saved. The captain must have been radioing for help when the boat sank and went down with her. When I hear of the search and rescues I always think of you now. Some day soon my friend. Talk later.

Hey buddy
Morgan seems to be doing better. Both big birds went to the vet Saturday and I was the only one that was bitten. Morgan got me and by the time it stopped bleeding I was down about a pint, lol. Her hematocrit was normal so she didn't have to be bled out this time. I guess she decided it was my turn. She's not out of the woods and may not be for a long time. She's not getting worse which is good. She's not loosing any more weight either so I guess she's holding her own. The other bird went to see if he had the disease. Won't know till the blood tests are back. See ya for now.

Hey pal
I got the pictures and they were really great. Thanks for sending them. Your report card sounded okay but you're really going to have to hump to get better grades in the algebra as much as you hate it. It's bringing down your whole grade point average. See if you can find the phone number of a CG recruiter also and maybe a person to person call would be informative too. You can tell him what your aspirations are and maybe he can advise how best to attain them or at least refer you to someone who can. Back to fish, lol. How about a lawnmower blenny? They are adorable and they help with your algae problem. They've got cute long eyelashes and they're a neat little fish. Inexpensive too. I love ours. We named him Rygel after the creature on the old sci fi show Farscape. Whoever created that creature on the show must have had a lawnmower blenny! Google farscape rygel and you'll see. Both big birds get to go the vet Saturday. I wonder which will scream the loudest. Have a good one. talk later.

Hi!
Hey Bud! Glad you had fun at the party! And it is good to hear that your mom approves your karate lessons. Hopefully in the new year you will get started. I remember being a freshman and it was pretty awful, still, us freshmen had a lovely time, it was only in the start that we were ‘initiated’. After that we were pretty much welcome anywhere. We also had a fight once after a soccer match. We played some arrogant fools and were beating them. They started playing like jerks and fouled a few of our players. On the last foul, our player retaliated and we scheduled a fight on campus, outside the view of any cameras and had it out. After about 15 minutes, most of their guys were bleeding and bruised. People out here are generally more violent and spiteful than where you stay, I can assure you. But after that day we were respected and we never had any more hassles with the senior guys. Its great to hear you’re a pokeman fan! I thought I was crazy for diggin it, at least most of my friends think I am. Avril Lavigne is very cool, she’s pretty cute too. Your friend Jordan sounds real talented! I forgot to mention that Stephen King is one of my favourite authors. How's your marine setup coming along? How's your dogs doing? Well my friend, take care. Cheers! Stokes

Hi buddy
Copy and paste the pictures in an e-mail to me. I gave you my email a blog or two back. The tank re-modeling sounds good. Now would be a good time to introduce another fish if you want. The others will have lost their familiar territory and won't be as aggressive to a newcomer. Also good that you pester those people at the CG recruitment. I've decided in all my years that it seems to pay to be aggressive which I've never been. Those are the ones that get ahead while the rest of us sit on the dung heap. I would think with homeland security and all that they would be trying their hardest to get recruits now. Maybe if you pester hard enough they'll send someone out to meet with you. You've got a strong background with the swim team and it seems to me they'd be very lucky to have you. Looking forward to tank and Halloween pictures. See ya for now. STUDY HARD! Any report cards yet? I'm such a nag, lol.

Hiya
That's just plain rotten that the coast gaurd was a no show. You should write them a letter and tell them how disappointed you were and how much you were looking forward to it. Maybe they'll send someone out or at least send you a bunch of information about recruitment. Too bad you don't live out this way. They have lots of stations here on the east coast. If you don't get right in to the academy, maybe you could apply to colleges out here and bug the crap out of the CG until they take you, lol. Your tank sounds like it's coming along very nicely and your shrooms will indeed spread over the rock and probably everywhere else too. Your halloween party sounded like alot of fun. I'll have to get those books so I can understand the charectures you all were. I'm also glad to hear that there will be more about Edward and the gang. Wish I had a friend like Alice. Well pal, it's time for this pile of old bones to hit the sack. Work tommorrow. Vote for ya.

Hey
Good to hear from you as always. I finished the last book and was actually sad to have the series end. I wonder if she'll write another now that Nessie is a main characture. Have her marry Jacob or something. That was some nasty pregnancy wasn't it! Bone cracking and blood drinking, yuck. I hear you about the movie, they usually take a good book and make a horrible movie. You're handsome enough you could have played Edward, lol. Did the coast gaurd recruiter come by yet? I'm anxious to hear what he's told you. Sorry school is so tough right now but keep at it. I'll check out those dragon chronicles, I hadn't heard of them before. I bought a mandarin dragonlet for the 24g tank today and a bubble coral for the 45g. I probably shouldn't have spent the money but I did! Morgan is doing fine for now, she seems to be acting like her old obnoxious self. She has to go back to the vet next Saturday for another bleeding out. The disease has caused her to make too many red blood cells so her blood ends up like sludge and that stresses her other organs. Bleeding out helps that and thats probably why she's feeling better. The cockatoo is going too to make sure he doen't have the disease too. Hope your Halloween party was a graveyard smash. If you have any pictures of you dressed up, send me some at efurino@yahoo.com I'd love to see them. We had well over 100 trick or treaters. Kind of makes you sick of little kids! Overdose. Well my sweet, hang in there studying hard. It's a pain in the butt but it pays off in the ends. Talk to you later, vote.

Greetings!
Hey dude! Howzit going man? Sorry to hear you’re having a hard time at school. Are you a freshman or initiate or whatever they call it on your side of the world? Sounds harsh dude, you speak to you mom about taking up Karate? Try not to get into fights, if you have to, then you fight like a lion. I remember getting into fights when I was young. Its part of like and growing up, but bullying and such is not good. Those tormentors that pick on you and make fun of you are basically making up for some inadequacies in the lives, maybe the lack of their parents love, maybe they feel people don’t like them and so they behave like idiots seeking attention. There’s a bunch of reasons, still none of them justify being a bully. I wouldn’t say that initiation is part of my culture, I’m actually from mixed ancestry. These are the traditions of the Xhosa, Zulu and Swazi people, collectively called Nguni people, they are related by geneaology and language. Many people of Zulu and Xhosa heritage work around here. There are still many other traditions from other tribes, but I do not know all, they do not live in my region, so exposure to them or their cultures is almost nothing. Where I stay, the Tswana people originally lived. Many Tswana live in Botswana, but many more live in South Africa. Now its pretty mixed up around the cities, any tribe or race can be found anywhere. Before non-whites were restricted from inhabiting or moving in and around ‘white’ areas. That was during the apartheid era, life pretty much sucked. Especially on vacation, we were given the worst beaches and resorts to go to. While a few European individuals had a mile of golden beach to themselves. I do not watch much cartoons and programs really. I liked Pokemon and watched the movie in a cinema when I took my little cousins. I watch reality programs and documentaries a lot, I love the Simpsons and IR Baboon and I am Weasel, do you know it? Otherwise I like Action movies, Sci-fi, horror and fantasy, historical movies, especially set in the ancient times, and the middle ages. I used to like watching a lot of war flicks and westerns but not recently. I tend to read a lot of non-fiction books. I love to read about archaeology and history, technology, literature, the arts, aquariums and fish and herpetology texts. My taste in music is varied, I like anything from any genre that sounds good. I like reggae, particularly dub reggae, house, trance, 80s pop, 90s hip hop and R&B, various genres of rock. Among my favourite performers are UB40, Queen, REM, Earth Wind and Fire, George Michael. My favourite house DJs are Pete Tong, Carl Cox, locally Dizzy and Fresh. How about you? Hope you have a lovely weekend! Take care bud! Kind regards, Stokes

Hey pal
We have to take Morgan, our macaw to the vet tommorrow morning. She has some kind of a respiratory problem and has been wheezing. If she gets excited she really has to struggle to catch her breath, poor thing. It's probably going to cost a fortune. I'm sure they'll do x-rays, blood tests, cultures as well as the physical exam. It'll probably cost more than a people doctor. I just hope she's okay. They don't make any kind of a bird carrier big enough for a macaw that I have seen anyway. We're going to take her in a cardboard box. The trip is alittle over an hour and she'll probably have the whole box shredded before we even get there. Wish us luck! See ya for now.

Glad you're back!
I didn't give up on you but I was alittle worried! I was hoping you were safe and sound. I'm on the last book already too. I've really enjoyed them but I have to say I don't think any relationships are quite that perfect like Bell'a and Edward's! Fantasy for sure. It's nice to dream anyway. What kind of algae do you have? Did you get a couple of turbo snails? Try a lawnmower blenny. They're cheap, cute and they love algae. Are your nitrates okay too? Sometimes that can cause algae overgrowth or too much light. I can't wait to hear how it goes with the coastie when he/she comes to your school. We spent last Saturday and Sunday on the little boat and boy was it nice. Warm, crystal clear water and hardly anyone else around. We just drifted around with our fishing lines in the water. Probably the last of the season because we have to haul it out by weekend after next. The association we belong to is removing the docks and dinghys. This weekend coming up is going to be pretty cool in the 50's so I doubt we'll go. Well buddy I'm glad you're okay and studying hard. Keep at it! Vote for you!

Hi!
Hey Bud! No sweat dude, I figured you were probably just busy. At fifteen you must be around grade 10. These next few years are the most important in your schooling career and I understand that you need to study and do your homework. Sorry to hear about your computer. Things have been quite busy at work. MY daughter turned 2 a couple of weeks back and we had a party for her. It was Barney themed and I had to try real hard to resist puking or worse, stabbing the cake to bits. Well as much as Barney irritates me, he does teach my kid some good things and she is smitten by him and anything that bears his picture. I was thinking, maybe I should hire a Barney suit and give her a good scare! I’m just kidding! She loves sesame street too, in South Africa its all in Zulu, Sotho, Afrikaans and English, so its quite funny hearing the characters speak in all those languages. The fish have been well. I’ve bought some new plants and done the usual maintenance and stuff. The snakes are well, very active and eating. Its become progressively hotter and its great weather for water, swimming, surfing, etc. We are worried about the lack of rain, which could result in a drought, which could be unpleasant. Let’s hope it doesn’t get that far. The current economic crisis that is affecting the US and Europe is definitely filtering down to other nations and our currency is crashing as are our markets. No one has jumped out the window yet, I’ll take that as a good sign. 15 is an age many of the boys in South Africa go for tribal initiation ceremonies and live out in the wild with not much more than a string around the waist and a blanket. Initiates are covered in white mud and learn how to fend for themselves, as well as firemaking, hunting and stick fighting. Usually at the end of the ceremony, the boys are circumcised, usually with no anesthesia and fully conscious (Ow!!!). The girls do something similar and also learn before being initiated. Initiate girls also wear very little. They usually go bare-breasted during that time and at the end of their initiation, they dance with reeds, and parade in front of the king (usually topless, it probably helps the king make his mind up about choosing a new wife. The Swazi king Mswati II, has 9 wives and 2 fiances, but that doesn’t stop him from choosing another at the last Umhlanga ceremony they held in September. Thought you’d find that interesting. Anyway, take care and be good! Cheers! Stokes.

Hello my friend
I lost another chromis last night. I saw him spiral down to the bottom of the tank out of the corner of my eye. He lay twitching on the bottom and immediately the scavengers started after him. I held them off long enough for him to pass in peace. I had a wicked fight with one of the hermit crabs who's determination astounded me. I kept picking him up and dumping him in a far corner of the tank and he'd boogie back at the speed of light! The nassarius and bumblebee snails popped up too and started for him. When I was sure he was dead I gave up the fight and in no time there was a pile of critters where the poor thing was. What a way to go. Have a good night, vote.

Hi
That's my boy! Safety first, you rarely get a second chance. It's been on the news alot about kids your age dying behind the wheel needlesly. How is your tank doing? I finally caught that big ass bristleworm last Friday. He was about a foot long and half an inch thick not stretched out. I got him at about 3am after a couple tries with the tongs. Got him into a pail and chucked him into the 10g hospital tank where he can't do any harm. He promptly disappeared again and I haven't seen him. You'd think in such a small tank he couldn't hide that well but he can. How's school going? You're getting straight A's right, lol. Did the coast gaurd recruiter come yet? I have a hard time watching the web site without crying. That Rocky video kills me. Good, I'm glad you promise to be careful. No text messaging and messing with cell phones or I-pods when you drive either. There was an e-mail going around the net about a kid who was texting his friend and had a head on collision with a truck. His car was smooshed so bad that he was cleaved in half. He was extracted in two pieces with his spinal column showing. It was quite rude. I don't mean to keep harping on it but think of a car as a deadly weapon to be handled with care. That's great about the coastie coming in to talk to you. Pick his brains and have him send any and all info he can to you. That should be a big help. Glad the algae problem is better. Hey
Good luck with the permit! Just be really careful and always use your seatbelt even if it isn't a law where you are. I lost my 17yo nephew David in a car accident. He was thrown from his Ford Explorer about 75ft and his friend Kevin who was 16, had the car land on top of him. Neither were wearing their seatbelts. If they had bee they probably would have been saved. Check out www.mvdriveforlife.org. It tells David's story and is how my brother and sister in law are dealing with their grief. They're trying to get driver's ed legislated back into the school systems. I don't mean to preach but please never forget that a car is a weapon too. Enough of that. Glad school is going well for you. The little island we went to is probably not quite what you have pictured in your mind, lol but is still quite nice. Maybe someday you can come visit. Sometime when you're bored you can check on mapquest or something similar Fairhaven, MA 02719. We live on Sconticut neck. You can get an idea of the layout. Be safe my friend. Fishy vote.

I had a really nice Labor day! Yes I had it off. We did go out in the boat for most of the day. It was a gorgeous day, all sunny with next to no wind. The boat's only 14ft so we have to go only when it's not too windy or else we could swamp. We stay in the bay area so it's more sheltered. The water was so calm and glassy I think we could have gone all the way to Martha's Vineyard, lol. It's not that far but there's too much open water for such a small boat. Don't want to have to bother the coast gaurd for being idiots, lol. We had a picnic on an uninhabited island. Just us and the gulls. Hola
Hey there,

The tank is looking great. I have to say though, tangs need a much bigger tank. These fish can get rather big and need lots of space to swim. The Sailfin I have was not much bigger that a silver dollar when I got him and now he's almost 8" top to bottom & 9" long!! In the wild they can reach 24" in length!! If you are condidering keeping corals in your tank, too much livestock can overload your system and corals especially sps & lps can not handle anything but prestine water. 0 nitrates, 0 phosphates, etc. See ya bro!!

Hey Birthday boy
Sounds like a great birthday party. We have Barnes and Noble here too, I'm a member. I love to read too and am glad to hear that you do. Before you run out and get a yellow tang my friend, read up on them. You'll see that they recommend a 100 gallon or more tank for them. You may want to reconsider. They are really pretty. I hope your clownfish recovers. She may be a bit shocked from the tank overhaul you did. It may have upset the ecobalance in there. You might want to do some water tests and possibly add some Cycle to get some more good bacteria in there. By the way, your E-quarium needs some attention, lol. I'll check out those books you were talking about. I'll be looking forward to seeing your poster. Blow up and cut your face out of a picture and put it over the rescue swimmers for motivation, lol. They do picture enlargements at the UPS store (at ours anyway). That would be funny. Later and a vote.

Hey pal
Why does school start so early now. Back (way back, lol) when I was in high school it always started after labor day. Why do they wreck the summer by starting so early now? Glad you're thinking about being on top of the game already. Your grades are probably the most important thing. The swim team should help too. So are you and Julia a couple yet or are you still pussyfooting around? Are you in the same class? Keep it after school though! I'm going to want to see your report card pal! Let me know how the first day went. Don't forget to start thinking which teachers can write recommendation letters for you. Start sucking up pal, be the teacher's pet. Did you tell your swim coach that you want to do rescue swimming? He may have some ideas too. Hope your tank is back to normal. Vote for you.

Hey buddy
You've got a birthday coming up right? Wish you were here and I'd take you to that restaraunt as a birthday treat. It was soooo good and I bet you can eat a bunch to make it even more worthwhile. I'm glad you had such a great trip. You almost sounded like you didn't want to go in a previous blog. You sound so enthusiastic that I bet you have a great time no matter what you've got lined up. You'll definetly enjoy life alot with that attitude and it'll naturally attract people to you. Good for getting into coast gaurd academy! What happened to your tank? You say it's a disaster but you never explained what happened to it. Too much algae or something? Whatever it is must be providing a food source for your corals if they're opening up and sucking it in. Maybe you were keeping it to clean before and they weren't getting enough nutrients. You'll have to describe what's been going on better. Talk later buddy, vote.

Hey bud
Didn't get home Friday night from work till 8:30 and I was too tired to blog. Tonight we just got in at 7:30, being away all day. We went to a radio controlled jet show in Gardner MA which is up in western MA about a 2 hr ride. We planned meet a doctor friend I work with there that loves jets. We had a nice time till a thunderstorm ripped through pretty much ending it all. Got back to the cars and our friend's car had a flat. Rode around looking for Fix a Flat, got it and fixed it. Then we followed him back to RI to a restaraunt that was really good. Different. It was Brazilian and Milanese. It was all you could eat. There was a huge antipasto bar with about 200 different things for starters. They gave you a thing that was red on one end and green on the other. When you turned it up to the green side thees "gaucho's as they call them" came with many different kinds of meat and other things on skewers and sliced some of whatever you wanted. Filet mignon too! When you wanted a break, you'd flip the thing over to the red side and they'd give you a break until you flipped it back over. Really good stuff! The best garlic bread I ever had in my life too. We were there for over 2 hours. I've never been in a restaraunt that long before. We were stuffed to capacity. Quite reasonable too. It was $28 a person. They have a website, check it out. Rodiziosteakhouseri.com Yum Yum. Vote for ya.

Hey dude! Thanks for posting the pictures. Looks great! must have been a lovely trip. Yes, the tank is very old indeed. In fact my grand dad is keen on a replacement, but last time we tried pulling that tank out of there we only moved it an inch and was fagged out real quickly. No silly, the fish are not that old. IN fact I wonder just how long fish can live. He’s been through many fish in that tank. Three years and your marine tank looks like it was put together by someone much more experienced. The monkeys raid on the east coast and then we have baboons on the west coast. Both are opportunists which will come into houses to raid kitchens, mess up washing on the line, terrorize the cats, dogs and kids. Monkeys are still pretty tame though they can bite, baboons on the other hand can be dangerous and have huge canines, real agile and very strong. Where I stay up in Gauteng province I’ve seen Cape Cobra, Mozambican Spitting cobra, puff adders, rinkhals and once a rock python. We encountered several specimens on our trips to the bush. A long time ago I used to chop them with a machete before I was enlightened. I used to say that me and snakes have an understanding, once the snake is dead, that is. A good friend of mine who owned a pet store and was a snake enthusiast himself shared all his knowledge with me. Boomslang (tree-snakes), mambas and gaboon vipers are found on the east coast and lowveld, not in our immediate vicinity. Tree snakes from Africa are highly poisonous, but their fangs are not hypodermic and they rely on a chewing type of movement to relay venom. I keep snakes as well. I have a Taiwanese Beauty and a Gray rat snake, both almost fully grown females. One day I plan to do a snake handling course and then I can get my first cobra. Your friends boa will outgrow that tank real quickly. It the reason I didn’t go for a huge serpent, and because my kid is a baby that can be easily killed by such a powerful snake, I’d rather not take the chance. I haven’t seen the dog whisperer, but there was some lady who is an expert with dogs who appeared on Oprah some while back. Flu seems to be going nowhere fast, my wife is sick too, stayed off work today. Anyway you take care there mate and have a lovely day. Kind regards, Stokes

Hey bud
Awesome pictures my friend. Amazing views. I'm glad you had that experience. I'm sure you'll remember it for the rest of your life. Can you show Julia how to take care of the fish or would that be too awkward? Wish I was close enough, I'd watch them for you. I'm sure your mom means well but if you're not into it you just don't get it. I wonder why school seems to be starting earlier and earlier each year. Someone else was just complaining about that. Sounds like it'll be fun at your dad's. Is your cousin close to your age? You guys could take off in your own canoe and make mischief, lol. Maybe some day you will be out here on the east coast and we'll most certianly meet up. Put in for a coast gaurd spot around here for awhile. Talk to ya later pal, vote.

Hey dude! Thanks for your compliments on grandpa’s tank! You may find this interesting, the tank is older than me. It’s from the late forties, the frame is angle iron and the glass is puttied on and the putty is painted with enamel. The tank has a slate bottom and weighs a ton. I’m glad you like the ocean pictures. I bet you will love it on our East coast. The water is always warm and its tropical outside the tropics (technically sub-tropical). The coastline is mostly pristine sandy beaches punctuated with rocky areas. The current is pretty strong owing to the Mozambican channel current, so typically it’s the type of beach that one can swim but only as far as the buoys appear. Beyond that you’d probably get swept out to sea, AND there are many sharks in that area. There is always a need for rescue swimmers there. The monkeys live in the hills among the trees in the area. They come down to forage for leftover food and scraps. In recent years they have been raiding villages and homes in the area. They have worked out that food is always available in human dwellings. We were advise to refrain from feeding them as it only encourages them. However they are very accustomed to humans and you can come up real close to them without them being afraid. The snake that is pictured at the end is probably a green tree snake juvenile, reputed to have the most potent venom among all snakes. Needless to say, but that was as far as I got to it! You should post some pictures of your trip to Colorado. It would be interesting to see what its like. I miss my Reno very much, I had him as a very young pup and he was very close to me. I think the fact that you have two dogs makes it difficult to control them. However you can turn it to your advantage and take charge of both dogs. You need to reinforce good behaviour with treats while showing the dogs that good behaviour gets good rewards and bad behaviour begets a scolding. It instills a sort of jealously and they will go out of their way to please you. Flu has still got me and now my daughter too. She is doing much better now after having consulted the paediatrician. Still, its never nice when your kid is sick. Thanks for the vote dude, and here’s one back at ya! Cheers! Stokes

Welcome back!!!!
Congratulations on the trophy! I'm proud of you! Glad to have you back in one piece. Sounds like an amazing vacation. One to remember. Hope you got lots of good pictures. I bet Julia is glad to have you back. I sure am ya little devil. It wasn't the same without ya. There was a poor fireman rescue swimmer that died trying to find someone missing off a boat near here. Poor guy, I think he had a heart attack while diving or something. We went out on our little 14 ft boat for the first time this summer yesterday. Great day for it. We took my old roomate Laura and had a nice picnic on a tiny teeny island in the middle of the bay. It was great to be out on the boat again. When does school start again? Start thinking of which teachers you can ask for good recommendation letters to the acadamy. Start sucking up to the principal too, lol. Time for bed, vote for ya.

Hi Buddy! Nice to hear from you again. I put the pictures up on my grandpa’s setup page. We’ve had some great weather lately and then suddenly this morning it was cloudy and cold. I hope it doesn’t last too long. I’ve been suffering from a flu for about a week now and I ran out of medication. Well, its taken a couple of days and I think it just got worse yesterday. I woke up to the feeling of terrible pain all over. Today’s a bit better and I’m back on my meds again. Dogs are wonderful animals and they are true pets. Your dogs are both wonderful breeds that respond well to training as well as being fun and easy going. I had a dog a couple of years back. His name was Reno and he was a cross boerbull and staffie. Boerbulls are a South African breed that looks like a bull mastiff. He contracted biliary disease and died quite suddenly. I’ve never gotten over him really and I often look at his kennel and wish he were still with us. We have lots of ticks out here but I took special care that he didn’t have any. Alas it was not enough and I think if he had been diagnosed early he could have been saved. Did you get some synthetic rock or is it live rock? I see that live rock can be synthetic too these days, basically mimics live rock and provides cavities for microorganisms, which you have to culture over time. Came across it on the internet somewhere. Well mate, I got to be going. You take care now! Kind regards, Stokes
