Betta Bowl
What a pretty home for your Betta. Bet is was difficult to choose because there are so many different types of Bettas but from what can be seen in the pic and your description this little guy is the perfect choice. Hope he continues to do well. I voted for you.

Come visit me, Dana.

No activity at Fischannel...
But this tank is a lot different. It has the same decor but much more jungle-y from fuller plants and it's now my fry tank. Merlin is in the Fluval Spec V now with a pair of Endler's.

I finally got the piece of wood to sink after boiling it off and on for about a week. As soon as it sunk, we went out and looked for a betta. It was hard to choose one as there were so many gorgeous ones, but we both spotted this green and blue guy with pretty ruffled fins and agreed that he'd be ours. He's green turning one way but blue looking straight on. He also has a little pink on his ventral fins. He's already showing personality in his little home. He rests between the leaves of the anubias, up against the (gentle) filter intake, and I've even seen him lying on the bottom for a bit. We're really enjoying him :)

Valentine's Day gift?
So my hubby didn't buy anything for V-day, but he said I could pick something out "fishy." We went to Petsmart and this was on clearance for $35. Score! An aquarium beats a bouquet of dead flowers any day.

He's on a trip, but when he gets back, we're going to pick out a betta together.

I bought an anubias nana "narrow leaf" that had a flower blooming already. I also got a tiny piece of driftwood that's currently soaking but still floating. The bottom of the tank has large "betta bowl" pebbles, and I bought black stones as well.

No real pics yet...
