Rams
First off I have to say this is a beautiful tank! Secondly I have a couple of questions about the keeping of Rams and would be interested in your feedback. I am receiving a 16 gallon tank in two weeks free of charge and I wanted to do something special with it. For the most part I don't like small tanks... even though I have one currently but like I said this is free. Anyhow I have always wanted a tank with Rams in it so I felt this would be a good time to start. The tank will be heavily planted with Java fern (lace and the standard variety) Cryptocoryne, Sagittaria subulata, Contorted Val and Riccia so hiding places shouldn't be much of a problem. Since I've never owned Rams and honestly haven't ever seen them up close until today I really dont know what to expect. I was considering three Rams or so plus a single male Betta. Rams are supposed to be way peaceful for a Cichlid but hey I'm sure that can vary. So what would an optimal head count be for a 16? Are they very territorial or can they peacefully coexist with others of their own kind and gender (or the opposite gender)? Will they leave the male Betta alone? Any info you could give me would be helpful. Thanks for your time and here's a vote! RAMS
Added two long-fin german blue rams to the community today. They are about 1-1/2" and one of my juviniles about 5/8" greated him with a shot to the side. Rhino fish

plants are real. Don't care for plastic.Plants consist of Jungle Val-started at about 23-25 inches and have trimmed one off at 46". I set up this page today and found it to be limited as to the types of fish you can list.
