Hi
No, It isn't on a timer. I try to sit with the fish and enjoy time with them. If I had it on a timer that wouldn't work for me. It is a very good idea though. Ever since the driftwood has been removed it (b.b. algae removal) keeps improving. I add flourish excell at infrequent times to encourage plant growth. Other than that it stays pretty basic. My son has the driftwood in a 15 gal. now and it does great for him. Have a good day.

Hi
Thanks for stopping by! You have a beautiful tank!! I wish my tank still looked like the profile pic! The whole thing died durring a week long power outage a couple of years ago. Trying to get it back to its former glory, but it's not easy. Here is a vote for you!

Hi
Still love that driftwood! I have several tanks that are heavily planted, but don't use cO2. It depends on the type of plants you get. Bacopa is one I can use without cO2, so that should do well for you. I'll keep watching, and see how this beautiful tank progresses. Oh, and I left another vote too.

Thanks for the kind words
Actually a reef tank isn't much more work than a planted fresh water tank. Still have to have really good lighting and great water quality. Here's a vote.

Hi
No, I don't have a timer on my light. I turn it off when I think it has had enough. It also gets filtered natural light. I really wanted to return the driftwood to my son. He handles driftwood planted tanks better than I do. I consider the perimeters of my tank unique. Its open top, overstocked, overplanted, and overfed. It amazingly works well. I don't mind doing water changes because it then goes to the orchids and vegetables. Its a vicious cycle but I do enjoy it.

Information on my drift wood
I built my root using a glass drill bit to pierce a hole threw a nice flat base rock.
I screwed the two together with a stainless steel screw.

Most of the time at the store, all the cool looking drift wood are in the lizard tank section.
;)

Hi
Thank you. You have a very cool piece of driftwood and it is nicely planted. Unfortunately my driftwood heavily contributed to a blackbeard algae spike in my tank. I took them out and it is more manageable after the tannins it produced are gone. Planted tanks are so fun and so much work.

The fish started to be very playful swimming threw the weeds.

I have a few different kinds of neon's in it.
My water is cloudy ATM but once I get it to clear up I'll take a few more different pic's
The root I have in there is from the aquarium store. No real idea what kind it is though lol.
I have some white sponge, or moss growing on it, not really sure how to call it. I think that's what's causing my water to cloud.

I had to cut and modify my root a little more then I thought.
Wife was right about it being to big haha.

Thanks for all the votes, and am looking forward to visit all your tank pages.
Thank you all
