Hats off to you. ATI bulbs are the s***! Still haven't figured out how to get a great clear picture of the tank like you yet though! The tank lighting looks way different than the pics I take, just a whole different color temp, shade, popping colors are less evident, blurring, etc... Ohhh, a whole other thing to fine tune. By the way, one of my fish stores sells ATI bulbs and they run bout $23.00 for our 54 watt bulbs, is that about what they run you? Anyway, saw your pics and I give you a nod for your great, heathy corals and also your photography skills.Come visit me, Who's Nemo?.

Thank you so much for congratulating me on my win for setup of the week. What a nice surprise it was to see my pond in the spotlight again! Glad you like the new photos.
It still hasn't frozen over yet but the fish have definitely slowed down. They go into orange blob mode this time of year.
I hope you're staying warm and are all ready for Christmas. I love the lights outside this time of year. They cheer everything up.

As you can see from the upadted pic which isnt the best, the rock I added is going through its stages of changing with the different algea growing on it. lets start over
Now the tank is new to me it has been set up up for a couple of years, I adopted it from my brother in law who had neglected it do to loss of intrest and the fact he couldnt keep anything alive. He wasnt using ro/do water and only changing 5 gallons a month compared to my 10 gals every other week. Now I have made some changes and added 30-40lbs of more rock more substrate and not to mention the move of the whole thing. Know I do relize thay these changes do affect the enviroment of the tank. I do have alot of coraline algea and copaphods ( not sure if I spelled that right) everywhere. I will look into the supplement fo the scallop during my weekly trip to the pet store. Lets see if this makes more sense. I am very proactive and stir my substrate at least once a day. I have never added any plankton or white snow so I geuss it feeds when I stir it up. My tank is still new and I wouldnt say its well established because I know that takes some time. You could call it a fowlr tank except I do have a small frag zoe. I have the salt right away and let it airate for about 8 hours I noticed a cumulation on the lid but so I started leave the lid off thinking that whatever evapourates is going back into the water. I've tried to feed the scallop but closes up everytime and when Im able to get something inside it, it will spit it out. Still got em, and its doing great, its a filter feeder so I don't have to feed it. Got a question I was referred from who's Nemo, here it goes when airating my water before a water change I have noticed an accumulation of residue on the lid to the bucket that is a brownish orange color. Ok.
Not to sure about the bulb count you are suggesting. As you know there are six bulbs in the Current fixture and I think I counted more than six that you mentioned. Are you suggesting that I add another light? There is no more room on top of the tank for any other fixture. Also, are you running any daylight/white bulbs?Come visit me, Who's Nemo?.

Anyway, the horse, Eddie, has settled in quite well and he and our mini horse are working things out. Guess who's boss? Yep, the mini!
Cooler weather here at night but still unusually warm for this time of year. No frost yet and still some afternoons in the high 80s.

Wow!
Wow, a technical question, I am tickled. You know when I first got into this site, I was dying for some of that kind of specific stuff. But the conversation always steered toward the weather or other hobbies, horses...etc. which is great but... You know what I'm saying. Ok, I have 3 10,000k and 1 actinic 420nm Coralife bulbs that are on 8 hours a day and two Coralife actinic 420nm that are on one hour before and after the daylights cut off. Also, I have the actinics running with the daylights at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day. To clear any confusion, and keep in mind that I have never had to put this into words, but here is a try at a time schedule. Because of my schedule I had to change all settings later in the day, so that is why I start so late. 3:00pm-2 actinics come on. 4:00pm-3 10,000k and 1 actinic lights come on. At this time, all 6 bulbs are on. 5:00pm- 2 actinics go off and only the 10,000k and one actinic is on. This is the setting for the majority of the day. 11:00pm- the two actinics turn back on that have been off most of the day. Now all 6 lights are back on. 12:00am the 10,000k and one actinic turns off. Now only 2 actinics are on. Then at 1:00 am the remaining actinic lights shut off. Oh, and I have a 15 bulb/diode LED that comes on a couple of hours before and after all the t-5's are on/off. I started out with the settings that the name brand "Current" had suggested in the owners manual, which was less lighting to be brief and not so complicated. But, I can honestly say other than the coraline taking off like a rocket, with my setting, there has not been a big change in the coral growth or look etc... after the change. Let me know what you think, and if I goofed somewhere or you can't understand also let me know. By the way, my pics are nowhere up to date. I'm on an IPad and can't change the settings. When I get access to another computer and make some updates, I'll let you know as some changes are good and bad! Those dang jumping diamond gobys!!!Come visit me, Who's Nemo?.

How are you doing? Did you get your coveted cooler weather yet? It's cool here at night but still pretty hot during the day. Been busy here with a new horse arriving this morning. A HUGE percheron to be a new buddy to our mini horse. I guess we like both ends of the spectrum!
Fish are doing great. Still not noticing the fall weather I think. As long as it's warm they'll keep going.

Best looking reef tank I've seen

I'm not happy to hear AFI is about done, guess they are looking to be online only? I adopted the tank @ 3 months ago, it was neglected no ro water no regular water changes and the tank has seemed to do well. I am currently feeding my scallop creel and brine. We thought it would be a different and colorful addition to the tank. I would love for my tank to have as much color as yours, it is pretty sweet.
