Thanks for the comment. You have a nice setup as well. Though I am a novice, I have set up a new cichlid tank and have done quite a bit of research on their breeding and the female holds their eggs in their mouth until the fry are ready and then spit them out. If you noticed one of them not eating with a slight lump under and just behind their mouth, that was a sign of "holding".Come visit me, 55 Tropical Community, 125 Cichlid Community & 55 Cichlid Community.

Babies
Discovered 3 new babies of "assorted cichlids" about 4 weeks ago. All 3 are seemingly striving in my tank! To my surprise and delight, I "never" noticed pregancy prior to their birth, I missed it! All my cichlids are bought as 3 yellow, one yellow w/black stripes, and one blue w/horisantal stripes "assorted cichlids" All babies are yellow in color. Tho happy for the new additions, I'm more curious as to how that happened without notice!

Please forgive me, I haven't responded to anyone lately. I was in the hospital for some time. I'm now getting back to normal (somewhat). I have rearranged my tank and added new fish as my current profile lists. Since my wife has "misplaced" my digital camera, I can't provide new pictures, but will as soon as it's found or replaced.
I still have problems with live plants. Any suggestions are encouraged! Thanks!Come visit me, RickLock.

Hi RickLock: thanks for your vote! It's been a while but things are nuts at work...merger time. I love your tank and what a precious little boy! What do you feed your cichlids? I am feed mine the small pellets, but they have to chase them around and nibble at them...they seem ok with it...but wondered what else I could do. They dont' seem to like tubiflex....and are ok with bloodworms, but not overly enthusiastic.

Catfish
Can you help me identify this catfish (second picture)? It lives in an "artifcial/rock" log and only comes out about 1 to 2 times a week. I purchased it as a baby, and now its about 12/13 inches long. It eats every new small fish added to my tank but doesn't touch the convicts, corry's, or other catfish.
