Where are the Glofish? These little Danios swim very fast and I have not been able to capture them very well with my camera. If you look at center picture at the bottom of the page, you will see a red/pink Glofish Danio to the right of the statue.Come visit me, LJ's Baby Biorb & LJ's Glofish biOrb.

Welcome! I never thought that I would own fish that had been enhanced to show different colors. I am against owning fish that have been injected with dye for several reasons: 1. The dye wears off. 2. The dye can cause premature death. 3. The injection causes the fish pain. Glofish are a different story because they are not injected with dye. Scientists working on a project to easily identify toxins in water, injected fish eggs with a fluorescent protein gene (which I understand came from jellyfish). The fish carry the color for their entire life as part of their genetic makeup and pass the genetic modification on to their offspring. If you want to read more about it visit http://www.glofish.com/faq.asp. At any rate they are quite beautiful. Since I have some decoration in my bowl that is not a natural freshwater plant color, I decided that the Glofish would be a perfect match!Come visit me, LJ's Baby Biorb & LJ's Glofish biOrb.
