Saltwater
If you must airate the RO/DI water, (Not sure why, I do not) then do it first. After you are done then add salt mix, mix with power head. I think this will solve your build up problem.Come visit me, Fish Art & Fish Art Frag Tank.

The flaming scallop will die if not feed especially in a new tank. It requires supplementation with phytoplankton, and organic foods (Marine Snow or Selcon) provided by using a small pipette/straw to dispense the food upstream of its location. It does best if you do not squirt the food directly at it, usually causes it to close up.

Airating water
It might be algae, how how are you letting the water sit before you use it? Are you adding salt right away or do you wait and add after you airate it? A side note: filter feeders do have to be feed. Here's a voteCome visit me, Fish Art & Fish Art Frag Tank.

Hi!
I meant in my last blog I was starting again. Oops, typo! I have no idea what kind of urchin I have, all I know it's a small and white. I don't feed it anything, it just munches away at the algae and like to carry a bunch of empty snail shells. I can't see the urchin, just a mass of shells moving around! New Photos
