Hello!
Yea, we sure miss that old dog. Then again, I really like having only one spoiled dog to clean and feed hehe. Things have been busy around here, have had lots of company every day, making it hard to clean fish tanks and some other chores done around the house. Plus have been getting things in the ground outside. Looking forward to having more green and flowering things next year. We'll be getting some pavers laid in this weekend along with prepping a new flower bed area. Bf says he wasn't planning on being my slave when he took today and tomorrow off so he could have 5 days of peace. Told him he should know better by now hehe. You have any plans for the weekend?

Hello!
I don't think I could handle my kids going off to war, but my stepsons half brother LOVES being over there and is a ranger now so he's super digging the life. Stepson looked into military for a minute but decided he likes life here. My son is working away, learning how hard it really is and trying to figure out if he can afford to leave home yet. Yea, the old dog is OLD. I made his appt for Sat at 2:30 but then have a busy rest of the day and a busy Sun so I should be ok. Besides, I'm really really tired of cleaning up after his old self, he's a lot of work. My son calls him 'the old liability' now hehe. He's mostly blind, deaf, congestive heart, rotten teeth, rheumatoid arthritis in one of his hips and so yea, it's time. oh, and then theres the alzheimers, he has no idea most of the time what he's doing. But, he was a great kids dog indeed and all the family and friends have been coming around to say their goodbyes so his having a busy week and Sat he'll be extra busy with folk until I take him to doc death hehe. I'm really really looking forward to only having one dog to feed and clean up! My 18yr old cat shows no signs of slowing down, even killed another mouse the other day. this one she brought in the house to kill though in the middle of the night so I had a nice treat waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs. She was very proud of herself too and expected her rewards for her skills hehe. Well, gotta get my dog out for a quick walk while old dog in napping. Pugs, they are a funny dog, have a friend who has 3.

Hello!
It just seems weird not to have any teens any more. Now he's looking into moving out, and with my daughter about to move to Maryland next month, and our old dog about to be 'put down' (he's an akita mix and is 17, and well, he won't make it through the winter, he can hardly walk now) I'm not sure how ready I am for all these changes. then again, my workload will decrease substantially both with dog and laundry (yea, my kid is spoiled though he pays me to do his laundry hehe)and I will be able to catch up and then get back to my set hours in the art room. Have a few orders and really need to get things in gear before the holiday rush. And this also means I can move the desk here in the family room up to the soon to be spare room and look forward to having another room for us to use. Bf is wanting a bit of a den, as always being in the garage isn't so great when it's really hot or cold out. Well, the cold is easier cuz then I use the kiln more so he has a nice personal heater he says hehe. But it will be nice to have more garage room for garage things and not need so much man cave space. See, I've already almost talked myself into how OK it will be once all kids are moved out. Sorta...hehe. I'm going to be taking today very easy, been having some nasty neck issues myself. Yea, to get muscles relaxed would be so nice. My dad is thinking of taking me to get some acupuncture, as I'm more of a holistic type and not into taking much meds (well, not having insurance helps reinforce that issue). Well, laundry and dishes are still waiting, sadly they never do themselves. Sure hope you have a good weekend planned, even if you just get some rest!

Hello!
we did get a bit of rain last night, enough that the sidewalks were still a bit damp this morning. more is to come and I'm sure wishing for it. Had to do some major hole digging this morning for some dogwoods that my dad bought about a month ago and then decided were too big for his tiny patio. Turns out that needed the assistance of my cat and my old dog. My young dog doesn't do hard work, hehe. anyway, whew, what a day and now I'm really sore but they look great and seem happier to be in good soil and watered well. Sadly, it's rare a t-storm here produces much more than enough to make your car a mess and remind you of how much you really miss good downpours. I'm hopeful that Sept will be a nice wet month but alas, all those solar flares mean most likely a hot dry spell for a bit longer I'm sure. Well, guess I need to get ready to prepare for hungry men and get some gaming time in, I'm sure there's a monster somewhere I can slaughter on my quest to save Zelda again hehe. Hang in there, and you can always 'whine' to me, those of us with chronic pain sometimes need to know we aren't alone!

Hello!
yea, getting older...if I'd have known I was gonna live this long, I sure would have been kinder to my past self! I'm bipolar so I know all about brain on overdrive and everything coming in a rush with the brain not completing any one task. Lucky for me my family is familiar and my bf is the most patient person I've ever known so I am blessed. My manic days are a hoot, then I get to go in slow motion for a few days and sometimes I even sleep, which always shocks them and they try hard to let snooze. It's always sporadic, and I've always got many projects going at once, so they all roll with it. Some days I almost feel sorry for them, but they all keep coming home so guess it's not too hard on them hehe. I also need to get algae taken care of in all the tanks, but have been down with strep throat so tanks are all lucky to get topped off, much less cleaned well lately! I'm watching the breezes blow in some big thunderheads, hopefully they'll actually produce rain and not just tease me all day hehe. Hope you are enjoying your Sunday.

Hello!
How is turtle doing? Glad to hear your dad got his power back. I'd never have made it as a pioneer, doing an Oregon trail thing, wow, do I like modern life! My granny was a hoot, one time at a family reunion, some old timers were sitting around wishing for the good ole' days, my granny smacked the table and said 'good old days he!!, having to ride 2 miles on a buckboard to get an aspirin...I like indoor toilets and refrigerators!' hehe. She loved technology and would have really enjoyed learning video games with me and my kids. She was one in a million to be sure and one of the funniest people I ever knew. It's been over 20 years and I miss her every day. Wish time travel could happen, would drop my kids off for a summer they'd never forget with her and my grandpa. Like the summer I saw my first golden eagle, up close and angry at me. I was about 9 or 10 and I disturbed it while out picking wild blackberries, the thing had a wing span of at least 8' and just about could have picked me up. Scared the heck out of me but what a sight! Wow! Thought it was a pterodactyl at first, it was so huge and close!

Hello!
Crazy how the corporations work. In this area, solar and wind would make lots of jobs and help us save $ but the 'powers that be' keep blocking it all. Very frustrating. I'll be turning the a/c on today, not looking forward to it but the house was just too hot last night and I'm not going to try to sleep in heat again. Hopefully we'll get the predicted t-storms, that will help. I don't think I'd have lasted very long living 100 yrs ago, I prefer life with tp and refrigeration, indoor plumbing is also a must! I have no pioneer spirit hehe.

Hello!
how's the mean turtle? how's the injured one? how crazy the little one will take bites like that, what a bully! Been busy around here, and mostly enjoying it. laundry and dishes are never fun but never ending so guess it's part of my 'earn my keep' plan hehe. Gotta do water changes on all tanks today, and clean the glass, as usual. It's to hit the 80's today and guess summer is on it's way in spite of my efforts to keep spring here longer. I'm so not a fan of heat! That means turning on the a/c which means more money to the power company instead of for fish and art hehe. Hope you are feeling better, I've been taking things easier and it's helped somewhat. Well, better get ready to walk dogs before it gets too hot!

Hello!
How goes the computer wars? My bf says he's going to be rebuilding some things into my tower, give me some upgrades and better control over some of my more commonly used databases. How's the eye? I got blasted with sand by the wind last week, my right eye was hating me until all that finally got washed out. I was sure sick of eyedrops after all that! Was out watering and looked up just in time to have a dust devil blast my face unexpectedly. Well, of course unexpectedly, if I'd have known it was coming I would have ran away! Had a super busy weekend but it was a really nice one. The eclipse was amazing, had around 10 or so of us standing in the driveway taking turns with the lenses. Very cool indeed. Well, gotta get a move on, am gonna babysit a lil missy who loves coming over. Especially now that she can play in the back yard with water hehe. She's not quite 3 and is one funny kid, she has a great sense of humor and is more entertaining than tv. Well, most things are I guess hehe. Hows the tang doing?

Nicely done there! My bf is a geek guru for a living and so I get the best of both worlds. We do have a couple of laptops with Windows on them, but I got introduced into the world of Linux OS' when we first met and he was right, I'll never again have the blue screen of death on my main tower! Wow, do I love the geek speak! Sadly, there is a game I'm 'addicted' to, RollerCoaster Tycoon II, and it won't play on my fancy Linux based tower with awesome flat screen monitor, alas, I have a laptop basically just so I can enjoy my park building. I really played when I broke my hand and couldn't do my artwork! Our weather is almost as annoying as yours, from high 80's, to almost freezing, to nasty winds, and then some pleasantness in between just so us peasants won't revolt I guess hehe. Been super busy planting and planting. Eventually I'll have all landscaping done and other that some general maintenance and some annuals I always must have, I'll be done in a few years and will get to enjoy all my hard work! this is my dream anyway! How's your hand doing? How's things in general?

allergies
I hate'em but have them all year round. I suspect it'll get better once my old dog finally goes (he's almost 17 and a big akita mix, not sure why he lived this long!). We have already hit high 80's for temps the past few days, I was really really not ready for this kind of heat, at all! UGH! Been super busy landscaping, walking, chores, artwork, etc etc. Oh, and my brother got married Friday so that was a nice time too. I'm looking forward to later this week when I won't have anything to do! Hopefully the t-storms will happen as predicted as well, I do enjoy reading a good book with a good storm! Well, chores await and today is family dinner day so gotta get dinner prepped for all the kids. I sure enjoy they all come home on Sundays to hang out. I not only love all our kids, but I like them as well!

Hello!
I wonder too if allergies are playing a part. As an anemic, I'm a bleeder and seems like every major allergy season I succumb to them and bleed away, either nose or where all my cuticles basically shred off from being so dry all the time from antihistamines. I remember having to clean my turtle tank a few times a week as a kid, they are truly messy indeed but are irresistible, so worth the effort. Keep telling yourself that! hehe. Weather is much nicer, but still a bit chilly. We may hit 80 on Friday though, I'm not ready for that kind of heat yet! Gotta hit the petstore tonight for filters and a few other things, and will enjoy going to the home store for dirt and foliage. I have a serious need for dirt and foliage this year it seems! Doesn't help with the dry skin issue either as that involves much washing. I have lots of lotions and potions though so it's only a temporary nuisance. I have a bad habit of picking at my hands, I don't bite my nails but I can't stand even a tiny snag of skin and well, that doesn't help the situation. My poor hands, between art work that usually causes cuts, scrapes, burns and constant washing and my natural state of OCD, it's a wonder I can use them at all! At least the break is about nonexistent so that isn't hurting too! Hope you are enjoying a bit of good weather yourself, getting outside is always a good thing!

How are you doing? I hope you had a really nice Easter. I thought I'd stop by this page and check out your new tank. Your turtles are adorable! What kind are they?

I'm glad that they figured out what is wrong with your joints but sorry that they are still giving you such a problem. Does the doctor think exercise will help at all? I'm always a big proponent of exercise but sometimes it's not a good idea.

I hope the medicine will work better as you're on it for longer. Good luck and feel better!

Here's a vote for you. Have a great weekend.

Hello!
ok, blod clot sounds scary, am wishing all the best for you on this indeed. Cleaned all fish tanks, boy are they sparkly now! Babysat a lil miss yesterday, all of 2.5yrs old and I ran her ragged for her parents (the mom had to get a root canal, ugh). Sadly, today I am worn out...my neck is letting me know I cannot play with wee ones like that any more! Told my kids I'm not ready for grandkids yet, gonna have to get in better shape first hehe. My bf says it's all good, they can wipe my drool while I wipe theirs HAHAHA. Anyway, I'm waiting for another spring snowstorm to come today, good grief! I'm happy that at least it's moisture. Hello!
I actually had a pretty fun childhood for the most part, and guess most of my adult life is pretty good too all in all. I'm having to take the day slow and easy, I re-injured my hand while vacuuming stairs yesterday. Someday I'll learn how to rest and heal, I'm sure of it! Looking forward to the weekend and the coming week, kids out of school so my nephew will be here with me. My son will be working most of it but he's happy to not have class for a bit. He's almost done with his HVAC/R course, and scored a 97 on his heating final! WooHoo! Only 6 weeks left, and he's sure happy about it, he's ready to work full time and make money. I tease him it's because of his video game addiction hehe. Speaking of which, I really need my hand to heal so I can get back to Zelda. While I can type ok still, (just not as fast) I just can't maneuver the Wii remote correctly without pain. Drat! Hope you have a fun weekend planned, I'm sure looking forward to mine!

Thanks for the vote and the response. I've only had tanks for about 5 years now. I love the hobby, and find if to be absolutely fascinating. If I could and my wife wouldn't kill me, I'd have a tank for every type of fish catagory you could have.
I will admit it though. I am still too chicken to set up a reef tank. But I think they are absolutely awesome.

Hello!
Amazing how we get into the aquatic hobby by chance! Weather is to be decent today, then more high winds late tonight until tomorrow night with temps down into the 20's for several days. I'm hoping after that spring will be here to stay after this next cold snap. I'm tired of the lack of winter but winds and cold lingering. Been having fun getting tons of pansies and other flowers and foliage potted and planted. Going to be laying some pavers down to start marking off where I'll want them so I can start planning landscaping around them. Having just a dirt back yard is nice as it's a 'clean slate' but wow, it's ugly and a long process to something enjoyable! How are you feeling? Are the new meds helping any? My hand is doing much better, haven't had to wrap it for a few days now and the swelling has gone down considerably. Ankles are much better too, though one still gives me some trouble. This getting older and damaged is hard work! Well, been goofing off too long between chores and my tummy is letting me know some lunch would be a good idea. hope you aren't working too hard!

I'm in my 50's and every year seems like a little bit more of me is falling apart! Love the turtles!
My very first aquatic pets were 2 tiny painted turtles I got when I was 3! I had them for a few years too, before my dad got stationed in Alaska and I gave them to a neighbor kid who loved them. And yes, at that tiny age I had to take care of them and the first time they got a dirty tank I was told if I couldn't care for them, they'd go back to the store, and I've been cleaning tanks ever since. In Alaska, I got 2 fish tanks, one had a real piranha (not a pacu) who was totally cool and a big chicken, and the other had angels and a few algae eaters. My dad still remembers us cleaning tanks together and getting fish for the piranha every week. He would only eat one a day, was really cool to watch too, he'd stalk then strike like lightening, fish in half and then a few more chomps and done. I named him Pete hehe. flexeral and tramadol, nice stuff indeed. I found a little bit goes a long way for me too which is nice cuz taking med after med all day really isn't my thing. We are having severe winds right now, gusts to 70+, trees and fences blowing down all over. Never ours though, which is almost annoying cuz I have a 2 trees that need to go, the fences are all old and shot and well, a new roof would be nice hehe. Oh, and I have an uncle who had a lung removed almost 2 years ago, been in ICU 3x since for pneumonia and still smokes. Some people never learn.Hope you are enjoying your weekend, and sure wish you could send some of your weather this way.
