Merry Christmas everyone! We are back! The Cape Cod Crew:) I got a new laptop today which means we can blog again! WOOHOO! I was able to get all the photos onto her computer, but for some reason some wont upload. But I will put the photos that can go up, up. Hehe!
Jazz & Felix got two new toys, rawhide bones, and two new leashs! Felix was so excited. He chewed on his bone all morning, and finished it! He started chewing Jazzys bone.. hehe. Jazz was into the toys. Both seem pleased with their presents:) Freedom got a big apple. He loved it!
Our cousin Jimmy came home today. He was in Korea for the war. I was so happy to see him. He will be staying for a couple of weeks, and he got a new truck for christmas! That was my favorite present.
It feels so good to be able to blog again, and i hope to hear from everyone. We have missed everyone so much!

HI, haven't done my birthday shopping trip yet as I was really sick on my birthday and today is the first day I have actually felt ok. I will probably get over to the lfs next week or maybe the week after. I like to avoid weekends so the staff are not rushed and you can actually chat to them and ask advice instead of it all being rushed.
As for swords I have 2 curved sabres, a 2 handed broadsword and my wife just brought me a crusader sword which looks really cool.

Thanks for the birthday greeting, I think it will be any money I get now being spent at the LFS as the wife has said she would buy me a new sword for my collection if I wanted. No news on the tank setup yet, but it's my birthday next week so will be spending any birthday money on buying bits for it. Saving time for later use sounds like a great idea! I find I never have enough time for anything. I try to keep myself busy since it's the only way I can stay awake. The tank definitely keeps me busy! Just keep in mind, for salt water, the bigger the tank the less work you will have once everything is established.

The lake
Is down the road from our house. We have a river behind us on our property (can see from the back porch :) and it connects Trail Lake with Kenai Lake. Google Kenai lake as it is very popular and for me a great place for driftwood. I have a few pictures of Trail river in my Chocolate Delight setup. Maybe only winter pics... Can't remember.
Thank you for looking :). My S.Badis looked too lonely so I added the other one and so far so good. A bit of sparring but if things get aggressive I will move one out again... It definately mademthem both less shy! They are pretty cool fish. Now I hope I can get them to eat commercial food eventually but at least I know they will eat micro worms and decapped brine shrimp eggs. And I noticed what I think is daphnia in the tank!

I discovered I can't play the videos from my iPad as well so I use Chrome or IE on my windows laptop. Since making it I have moved the 4 largest fry to my 50 gal for further grow out and to make more room for the fry remaining in the 20 gal... They are doing great!
Btw, I updated the Nano DSM NTP setup picture and added more below as well. I now have a Scarlet Badis (dario dario) in that setup along with 4 cherry shrimp. The driftwood I added are some dry roots I found along Kenai Lake. One of the pictures shows the Scarlet Badis male fish :). I hope to find a female S. Badis maybe at Aquabid.

Yes, I definitely recommend that book. She writes in a different style than I am used to but I couldn't put it down and have gone back to different sections plenty of times. One of these days I will read it all through again LOL. I learned quite a bit from it. Thank you for visiting my DSM. It is my first attempt at the natural planted tank I read about in Diana Walstad's book 'ECOLOGY of the PLANTED AQUARIUM - A Practical Manual and Scientific Treatise for the Home Aquarist'. It is a real eye opener book and I wanted to start small. So, the shrimp vase and the 2.5 :). I will be moving my Angel Fish from the 29 gal to a 45 gal very soon and I wanted to do the "Walstad" method with it bit now I am not so sure...

yeah, I wish I had a tank big enough for a ray! Or maybe I wouldn't, a lot of work to clean! The ray and jelly were taken at Mystic aquarium. I live about an hour from there.
