Hi Again
A vote for stardust:) I feed my Plum Betta Betta Min because he is picky and won't eat pellets. Odd Betta LOL Once or twice a week I treat him with a white worm that I culture for my fish along with microworms.

btw, I am hoping for SOTW next round - will you vote for my Chocolate Delight?

Blood Worms...
I feed the frozen ones to my fish a couple of times a week. They love them. Let them thaw in a little tank water before feeding. The little squares are the right size for my big tanks. For your Betta's it would be to much. I guess you have to cut a small serving off for them. Talk about your Fin spoiling! Texas Awaits! I'll keep praying for you! Take care and have a great day!

checking in
or up or something hehe. Glad to hear things are going to work out. We went through 2 agents, our 3rd was truly a charm and we are now friends as well. Hope you are healing, physically and mentally and look forward to hearing about your eventual new home! HOA can be very tough, they are useful to a degree but boy can they be militant and tough to live with. My bf had to deal with one and we agreed we'd never do it again! I enjoy chatting with my sweet elderly neighbors with their seafoam green house and their awesome landscaping, none of which would ever be approved by an HOA! Then again, not having to see dead cars all around helps too, my friends neighborhood has become a junk yard and there's really nothing that can be done about it. The yin and yan of life!

thanks to everyone!
Thanks to everyone for all of your kind words and words of encouragement upon me losing my house due to negligence in filling out paperwork for HUD on the part of my real estate agent. Also for your concern about me falling down go boom again! <smile >

Thanks also for your advice about not moving Stardust and Moonbeam to their new larger tanks until after I get moved into a new house be it in Colorado or Texas.
My oldest daughter is flying back to Texas from California this evening. She will begin looking for houses for me tomorrow. There is a new housing development very close to where she lives where I could purchase a brand-new house for a reasonable price however she thinks it is controlled by a HOA. Those can be a real headache if you have multiple dogs. I also really enjoy having birdfeeders. They are also outlawed by many HOA's.

I will try and get to each of you individually and leave you all some votes over the next couple of days now that things have returned to normal here at my house.

Come visit me, Stardust, Moonbeam & Midnight.

Also!
I see your moving, maybe I can help. I work for a moving company (Right Price Movers) that contracts work out of an U-haul website. It's called EMOVE.com where you can choose your own company to load and then choose another company to unload at your new location. Take your time to look at the customer reviews for that is a good indication of there reputability. Also, look us up as we are #1 in the Houston area!!! Good luck, and let it be as stress-free as possible.

They're similar, but mine looks a little different. Maybe it's the spikes or something, hard to pin-point the differences. Ok- it's the spikes. I have a male crowntail betta, so that would be too hard to draw up (for me). Thanks though. Here's a V!

moving
I've got friends who've moved from there and can't wait to go back and others who have moved there and swear they will never leave so perhaps that will be the best thing, especially if you can find something more modern to live in that will have the important upgrades already in place. Our home was built in the early 70's. It does have great windows but the front door has to go as it's useless for the most part, and well, many other things need to be done and that takes time and money, both which are in short supply around here! I wouldn't worry about the fish, they have been happy where they are this long, longer won't hurt and then you won't hurt yourself trying to move and maintain bigger tanks! Healing comes first! Especially if you are looking to move to another state next month! Whew! Nice you and your daughter can do this together. Most of my family is close by so I'm able to help as needed. We have no room for any more though, as we have 5 at home now, all 3 kids are either in college or about to be and it's rather crowded with them, my 2 large dogs, the cat, a gecko in a 40 gal tank and of course, my tanks, currently running a 55 and 2 20's. Good thing we all get along so well! And I have to agree about a yard, while we don't have any grass and well, it's still mostly just a million rocks in the front and a lot of dirt in the back, that will all change in the next few years and then we can really enjoy the house.

I'm Sure Things will work out!
Howdy,
It seems so unfair when a person id doing things right and SOMEONE else...makes the mistake that causes trouble. I hope it all gets worked out to your benefit? It seems as though it should? Oh , Thank you for the vote. Damsel is right...don't worry about the fish for now , not until you KNOW where you're going and how much time you'll have to prepare for your move. I don't know where you live but, if you're moving far? It would be best to give your fish good homes and start fresh when you get to your new location, Stardust and Moonbeam will appreciate it! I moved to California from Chicago many years ago. I couldn't bring my 55 so I gave it to my brother. It was a few years before I got established and set up a new tank. When I moved up here from San Diego, I sold my Discus and started over with what you see now. I took my inspiration from a website and store in San Francisco ( adana-usa.com ). I think you'll enjoy it? Just remeber to plan ahead and ask all of us the questions you need answered. It's why we're here! Take care and good luck.

OMG!
I am so sorry you lost your new house! Keep the fins where they are for now, one less thing to deal with. They are happy and healthy. Worry more about transport when you have to move. On the upside, I love Texas. After living all over the Country, while my husband was active duty, we finally settled here. I'm originally from FL. and didn't think I wanted to be anywhere else until we moved here. I enjoy the different cultures, have started to really like the Mexican food and have fell in love with this BIG CITY!! I'm not familiar with the area your daughter is at, but I bet it is a good place to be or she wouldn't be there. The hardest thing
for you will be the change. Don't feel that you have to be dependent on your daughter or anyone. See this as the time to be close to her. Enjoy this precious time that you have been given to be close to tour family again. You are going to be fine and so are your fins! Take care!

Howdy...Welcome to Fishchannel!
Great Betta Tanks, it looka as if you a Male& Female? I usually scan Blogs and see new folks here. Welcome to
the club! I've kept Betta's before and had a friend successfully breed them. That was work as I watched how he grew his own Brine Shrimp etc.. I stuck with a more managable fish feeding regimen LOL! "Discus", some people called me crazy but, I did my homework and was rewarded with them for 9 years. Sorry to read hear of your accident but, you'll soon be unpacking those tanks and out here with the rest of us bloggers who happen to keep fish! I'm adding my Vote...

Colorado..
How I remember the winters! We were stationed @ USAF Academy in Colorado Springs for 6 years. (1992-'98) Had a lot fun playing in the snow with the kids, not so much digging out just to get out of the driveway. Glad your doing better and hope Moonbeam is o.k. Take care and stay warm!

Hi Again
Thank you for visiting me again. No, I have never attempted to breed a Betta. I have so many other fishy projects that I just never went there LOL. Right now I am raising 3 Angelfish fry that survived a couple spawns ago and I am beginning to breath a sigh of relief that they are not going to die on my but keep growing!

As for my Betta, I learned a while back not to put them with other fish as it will kill them with over feeding. I feed the small schooling fish and they pig out. I lost my last Betta that way I think. This one, Plum, has the entire 5 gal to himself with cherry shrimp and is happy :)

Here is another vote!

FYI on Paradise Fish
A bit of information - before getting the Paradise I read about them and they are very hardy fish. In the 1800's (sometime in that century :) it was mainly goldfish and paradise fish that made it into the US across the seas in a ship. They can be kept with or without a heater and are not limited to soft or hard water. The problem with them however is they can be very territorial and you cannot keep them with fish smaller then they are or with another male paradise fish. Some people have been successful in communities but much depends on introduction and/or temperament.

They are lovely and very inquisitive :)

Thank you for visiting that tank and hopefully I will upload pictures soon.
