Good Morning!
hi again! I just stopped in to let you know that I’ve added new pictures to my profile. I’ve rearranged the tank, once again, after adding a new resident, another Blue acara (Seen in the 1st column, 5th row). The pictures are at the bottom of the page, under the comments block. All of the fins are doing well since I moved things around; I actually think that some of them like this setup better. The Keyhole (who was constantly in hiding) is spending time out in the open, hanging out on top of the slate roofed “cave”. Of course when I try to get a shot, it decides it’s time to move. (It must be a female!) :-) LOL
I’ve also left you a vote. Enjoy your Sunday! TTYL

Hi Jerzee Jim!
It's been a while since I dropped in, so I thought I'd come check out the tank and leave a vote at the very least. Back before Christmas you were doing battle with your Cherub Angel. As I recall, you were trying to catch it and it wasn't being very cooperative. Any luck?
I went through a bout with my tank, where it seemed like I was removing a dead fish every day. It felt like it was going on for months, when I think it was more realistically, like a week or two. Regardless, it was costly, replacing fish, to see them die and not know why or if there was a fish causing the damage. I'm happy to say, I think the problem is behind me, I hope! I have recently, made some changes to the scenery in the tank and added another Blue acara to the mix. It is a juvenile about 2" long. So far it is on the timid side and the others have made sure that it knows its place in the tank. Hopefully, it will remain peaceful as it gets older and grows to a mature size of 5-6". The species is supposed to be peaceful, and a good community fish, but I think that is when all tank mates are about the same size. This will definitely be one of the larger fish in my tank. Time will tell!
We've had our share of winter here already. Within the past few weeks, we've had a couple of storms, one dropped around a foot of snow and just yesterday we got another 2-4". The weather predictors are saying we can expect another Nor’easter in a few days. I don’t mind the snow too much, but I had a piece break on my snow thrower and it's in the shop, waiting on parts from the mfg. Being required to remove the snow with a shovel is not fun. It's a real pain in my back (I have arthritis in my lower back). I can't wait to get my machine back from repairs.
I've been out of work for the better part of 6 months now, trying to deal with feet problems. It is not just one thing, but a combination of things, and trying to sort them out, and make the situation better has not been easy. I have been doing some research on my own, trying to diagnose my problems. I've been to see a few different docs, with no great ah ha's or eureka’s, and I feel like I'm in a stalemate. To explain a little bit, I had cancer about 10 yrs ago and was given Chemotherapy & Radiation treatments, prior to major surgery. The Chemo has caused neuropathy in both feet, and symptoms similar to Restless Leg Syndrome. The radiation & surgery (which removed some of my lymph nodes and other major vital parts), has caused lymph edema (swelling in my feet, along with pain). I was also diagnosed with a broken toe. Things have flared up and gotten worse over the past months. There are many things that need to be addressed and taken care of, before I can return to work and regain some normalcy in my life. I can't wear a shoe on my left foot at this time, so that makes things tough. I'm hanging in there, hoping that today will be better than yesterday, but not as good as tomorrow; and eventually, I'll be close

Merry Christmas!
Dropping off a happy Boxing day vote! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas day of joyous festivities and good companionship; Lots of presents and good food and perhaps quality fin time too!

Did you have a white Christmas? We had a rainy one but that's okay. I took the dogs for a long run and we all came back wet!

I'm grateful for all my friends on FC and I'm glad to be able to share with you. Wishing you all the best this holiday season and leaving a vote under your tree.

Hi Jerzee...
How goes the battle between you and the Cherub Angel? Hope all is well and everyone is ready for the upcoming holidays. As usual for me, I'm still heading out and about in the last few days trying to get those last minute items for the Mrs. The good thing is...we have all of the shopping done for everyone else! Another good thing is we are not responsible for a meal this year. My sister and brother-in-law & my wife and I have been sharing the duties (every other year on Christmas Eve) for more years than I can count or remember now. The whole family (about 10 of us) gets together at one or the others house for dinner and the sharing of the Christmas spirit, and this year it is her turn. We've also been trying to get our brother, and her son, to share in the meal prep thing but, it's not happening so far. They know when they've got a good thing and aren't about to participate in the "giving end of things." We started the tradition about 25 or more years ago when our parents retired and headed for FLA every year in Oct, only to return in the late Spring. Now that they are older, they aren't traveling anymore, so...they too, come out and enjoy the meal each year! Can't complain though, it is only every other year; and it's usually a good time with good food enjoyed by all. And...we don't get together too often during the year, busy lives and distance make it difficult.

At any rate...Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Come visit me, Pisciculi.

Thanks for your kind compliments on our pond. I'm glad you like it. It sure is nice to hear the sound of water running and to watch the fish enjoying themselves. Though right now they're comatose orange blobs.

Good luck with starting your own pond project! And here's another vote.

Catch a fish
I've see a few people that are really good at catching fish. They insert one of the clear plastic containers (that are used to transport the fish from the store tank to the plastic bag) into the tank and hold it near the fish, behind it (more or less) then they use a net in the water to gently coax the fish to swim ito the clear container. once inside they move the net closer to the open end (keeping the fish inside), and remove the container w/ fish from the tank. Give it a try and good luck!

Hi JerzeeJim! No, all of the plants are plastic. I'd love to have a planted tank, but, I think it would be too had to clean/maintain. I have a 5 gal bucket full of plants, so when I want to change things around, I pull everything out of the tank and start over again. i try to change things around on a fairly regular basis. I think the fish would get bored with the same environment, I know I would! I change it around when I introduce a new tankmate, and if I haven't added anything new (not the case lately) I try to change it every 8-12 weeks. Unfortunately, I have had to remove a couple of fish because they've gotten too territorial or agressive; and I have had several others die from the attacks on them. Such is the way sometimes in this hobby!

Thanks for the compliments on the tank, I enjoy it, even with the ups & downs (been at it for many years now). You have a Happy Thanksgiving! K?
