It was great to hear from you again. I'm so glad you both had such a wonderful CA trip. Too bad you were so far south of us. But then again, southern CA was probably much warmer than we were! It's spring here now and we are enjoying warm days and hope we've seen the last of our freezing nights. Only time will tell. Have a great weekend! And here's a vote for you.Come visit me, Pond Creature (Rest in peace sweet Tiny girl).

Me again Thanks for sending pics! You must have a nice camera cause those are like postcards. Beautiful! And the seals, there were tons of them! And how did your wife lose all that weight! I must know! I just seem to keep adding it on the older I get. And I'm not your go out and exercise kind of person. After work, don't feel like doing anything. Kitty angels of CT is a cat rescue/sanctuary. I was helping cleaning the place for 3 years, but my back couldn't handle it anymore, so now I do f.b. and fundraising. Petco has some saltwater fish, but mostly fresh. Not anywhere near the selection that the places you mentioned have. I don't like going to the one in Manchester, nice place to look, but super expensive! I've gotten the same fish elsewhere for half the price they charge. He has a super expensive rent there, so that's why he charges so much. I myself, like the one in E. Hartford that has the puppies, can't remember the name of it. Well, off to the flea market and freeze my butt off! Talk soon!Come visit me, reeffreak.

Wow! Sounds like you had a great time! I was worried about you, cause I haven't heard from you in so long. Glad to hear you both are feeling better! Who took care of the tanks while you were gone? I've been busy with work and my brother and I took over the face book page for kitty angels of ct . Plus going to Petco in Glastonbury on Saturdays when I can to help try to adopt out cats. My son got his license, so now he keeps taking our cars for school and work. So now Im getting more gray hairs worrying! Keep in touch! Hope you took lots of pics on your trip!Come visit me, reeffreak.

Hi All! I have just returned from a 2 week trip to the (warm 60ish, spring like conditions), west coast, with my bride; and I have to say that we enjoyed it immensely. We flew into San Fran, stayed for a couple of days and toured the area. We spent some time in the Golden Gate Park (conservatory of Flowers, Japanese Tea Garden, Cali Academy of Science, S F Botanical Garden), and just driving around checking out the sites. I highly recommend a visit to the Academy of Science. There is a swamp set up with an albino alligator (about 10 ft long), alligator snapping turtles (about 2-3 ft long shells), and a few Central American cichlids. There is a very nice aquarium with reef tanks and many wonderful fish displays. They had a reef dive show with two divers in the tank (with plenty of area around them to move about). The tank had a very large fish population as well. We went across the G G Br. into Sausalito and then to Muir Woods St Park. (to see the coastal redwoods). We just had to finish off the day with a trip to Napa Valley to check out the vineyards, before the trip back to SF. We took a tour of Alcatraz Island that was Wow! And…we just happened to see a poster in the Haight-Ashbury section of town for a show at the Asian Art Museum. It was for the only west coast stop for the Chinese Terracotta Warriors; and other artifacts of the period. If you have never seen or heard anything about them, check it out. The 1st emperor of China had an army of terracotta warriors (80,000) created and buried to protect him in the afterlife. Unbelievable! We then made our way down the coast to Monterey Bay, and of course, to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. (Another “Well worth the trip” experience). We spoke, for a good hour or more, with an employee about the bay and surrounding area. He turned us on to a place called the Elkhorn Slough (pronounced slew), which was a great wildlife preserve with some great bird (and nature) watching; and Point Lobos St. Park. (for the scenery and harbor seal colony). We rode along the coastline, for some awesome scenery, on a route called the 17-mile drive. It goes past a few famous golf courses (Pebble Beach, for one). We got off of the route to go into Carmel-by-the -Sea for a bite to eat. Then we went back to complete the route. There are some incredible houses along the way, as well! More spectacular scenery awaited us (on just about every turn) on highway 1, along the coast, through the Bug Sur area and on down to a small town called Cambria. Along the way we stopped at a beach area to observe the 1500 or so members of the local elephant seal colony that reside there. We visited the Hearst Castle, and I have to say it is a fantastic “living museum”. We went on 2 tours, and both were well worth the money; the collection of art found within the walls, and on the grounds is amazing. We went as far south as San Luis Obispo (SLO), before making our way back towards the northern side of Monterey bayCome visit me, Pisciculi.

It was great to hear from you again! It's warmed up a bit here the last couple of days. 50 degree weather and sunny. Some of the snow even melted! I'm hoping it will stay this way but I'm not holding my breath. Up till now we've had about the same cold weather as you. In fact, it was cold for so long that we lost some of our pond fish. Sad since we've had them for several years and they were fairly tame. I'm glad you got a bike ride in despite the cold hands. I haven't been driving the horses as much the past couple of months because of dealing with so many colds and flus. I haven't really felt like it and they tell me that they're neglected. I'll make up for it when I feel better. Hey, so you're planning on heading for the West coast? That sounds like a fun trip. Maybe you'll pass us on the way. You're not taking the bikes? :) Have a great weekend and here's a vote for you.Come visit me, Pond Creature (Rest in peace sweet Tiny girl).

Hello! Enjoying some warmer temps here, the gorgeous freezing fog has left. Not sure I'm ready for warmer temps, this means having to check outside landscaping for water needs, and will of course find something that needs to be done. Sitting inside watching weather was so peaceful. Sorry to hear about the little pooch, hopefully he's feeling much better now. Our new kitty is adjusting nicely, and he's quite the goof. Makes for some entertaining moments, watching him. Well, this day is starting whether I'm ready for it or not, guess I should get some chores done while I'm still semi-motivated hehe. Hope your day is a nice one!Come visit me, SpazSewer, SpazBees, Gobi-Wan Kenobi & K-Spaz.

Hello! So happy to hear all is well and that you got some decent time off too! Our world has been very very busy the past few months, but mostly all of it good. Got a new kitten for New Years, he was actually my Christmas gift, we adopted him from our local Humane Society and he's just a riot and is keeping the household busy with his antics. I did lose my Bolivian Ram male, so now both are gone. I'm not getting any more fish until I finally get my aunts 125, looks like either this spring or summer (YAY) and then will work on new fins after old fins get settled into their new digs. The gobi will go into the 55, and all the 55 fins will get the 125. The sewer is going to get moved too as I'm going to get rid of gobi's 20 to my bro, and then decide where to put sewer tank or at least put it on the better stand. Weather has been really cold for around here, and we do have some snow and ice to help cover things so it's not so brown looking out there. Desert winters are rather dreary here, everything is brown it seems. But at least it's not hot! Well, breakfast needs to get figured out as everyone is looking hungry. Hope you are having a very nice day!Come visit me, SpazSewer, SpazBees, Gobi-Wan Kenobi & K-Spaz.

Happy New Year! So far ours has been really nice. We are still nice and cold which is great as it's keeping what little snow we got to stay. How's the tank doing? Looks like I'll be getting my aunts tank sometime this year, so I'm really excited. 125 gallons to play with, WOW! All other tanks are doing quite well. My goby is getting big, but he's still ok in the 20, he hasn't gotten too big for it yet. I got a new kitten for Christmas, though we didn't pick him out until the 1st, he's my New Year's baby. 6mos old and hilarious, fitting in nicely around here with old cat and goofy dog. He has no name yet, though I'm sure my other pets have found a name or 2 for him haha. Hope you are feeling better, how's the acupuncture coming along?Come visit me, SpazSewer, SpazBees, Gobi-Wan Kenobi & K-Spaz.

Condolences Oh, I am so very for your loss. What a way to start Thanksgiving! I do hope you have lots for which to be thankful and that you enjoyed the time you did have with your father. It was a very nice obituary and he sounds like an interesting man. May I ask if your grandmother, Euphemia, was Greek? I know that is a Greek name and was just wondering. Despite the sadness in your family right now I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow. It was great to hear from you again! I'm glad you're not any worse off but wish you were feeling a bit better. At least the acupuncture is working for you both and at some stage you'll have your doctor back out from Queens again. So sorry about all the trouble Sandy has been causing you and others. What a mess! Good thing you have a generator. That's a long time to be without power. We have one too since power cuts are not that unusual here but I only have it set to work with the well. At least that way we're not without water. Busy, busy here too and hardly time online anymore. But I write a little bit when I can. Glad you're all safe and have power again. Here's a vote for you. Time Flies... Couldn't be a truer statement! I just don't know where the time (days, weeks, months, years...)are going; except way to fast as they fly by! Life is good, so far! My wife and I just celebrated our 37th anniversary on the 11th of Oct by taking a 280 mile ride from our house in Southeastern CT to the complete opposite corner of the state, then into NY state (Millerton) catching Rte 22 north; then turning east onto Rte 344 and stopping near the NY/MA line at a scenic waterfall area called Bash Bish Falls. We were there in the Spring of 1988, and Boy has the area changed...Parking lot, one of those "You Are Here!" maps, portajohns...and a 3/4 mile hike to the fall. It's turned into a real, honest to goodness, tourist trap; without the charge (it's located in a state forest in the lower Berkshires). Today we spent the day preparing for the TS/Huricane Sandy to strike us a blow, (hopefully not too directly) some time within the next day or three! One of the earlier computer models has the eye making landfall WAAAAY too close; but thankfully, it is looking like landfall may be to our south...between Washington DC and just below Long Island, NY. Only time will tell! During the late spring this year we had a Mitsubitsi "ductless" air conditioner installed. There is a somewhat small unit that mounts on an outside wall and the lines are run down along the wall (contained in a conduit) to a compresor unit that is mounted on a concrete pad (under the stairs to the deck). While the electrician was making his connections< I gave him a hand running a heavier cable to the outside wall and installing a box with a connection for my generator. There is a rather large box that is mounted next to the electrical breaker panel and it has a switch lever to switch from the "street power" to the generator, and is supposed to prevent backfeeding power to the street; and it will run everything in the house because it is powering the entire panel. So even the fish tank (which is doing well) will not be without power, as long as we can get gas, that is! Fingers are crossed that things don't get too messy around here. The last time we had a strong storm hit, we lost two large (20" +) diameter trees, come crashing down in the back yard (away from the house) doing very little damage, with the exception of a long process of cleaning them up! Best wishes to all, especially to those that are going to be effected by this approaching storm. Good luck to all of us!Come visit me, Pisciculi.

Good News! The good news is...I'm still alive & well, (sort of). The tank is doing well. I had to make an adjstment or 2 with the residents of the tank so as to keep peace & harmony (and some expensive fish)! All of the fins appear to be happy with the surrounds & manage to find enough room and places to hide when needed. It's definitely an all day chore to clean and maintain the tank and filter. Thankfully, the filter is large enough that it doesn't need constant attention. I have be delving into the Eastern Medicine of Acupuncture & I have to say that it's making me feel better and helping me to endure the daily pains my body gives me. I guess in some cases it's true..."Pain lets you know you're still alive." The good things I've been getting from the acupuncture treatments are: I've been taking less pain meds and my legs aren't bothering me as much as they were, overall I feel much better and I'm able to move a little easier than I was doing. My wife has also gone to see the guy that does this to me and she has also gotten good results; and feels much better than she was. She has been suffering with migraine headaches for many years now; and since getting acupuncture treatments, she hasn't had a severe headache & only one minor one, after a full day of very intense stress. She says she is experiencing less body pains. It's been a great big WHOO HOO! for the both of us!Come visit me, Pisciculi.

Hello! How was your 4th? Ours was very quiet, made a big steak dinner and we read all evening...yea, party animals, that's us hehe. I'm still hoping we'll end up with rain the rest of the summer instead of hot sun, but living in a desert means no such thing. Maybe my next life I should shoot for pacific northwest coast or England coast hehe. At least we aren't suffering like the states to the east of us are, crazy with the power outages and storms over there. Guess that's about it, I'm just killing some time while I contemplate lunch and afternoon chores. It was great to hear from you again. Sorry that you're still in such pain. Wish there was something that could be done! And I bet you do too. I'm glad that you're still able to work though. How was the wedding? Was it a friends? Family? The furry little critter on my page is Kermit. He's a Yorkshire Terrier with a touch of Maltese. He's the cutest little guy I've even known. And he has a sweet and smart personality to go with it. He and my saluki, Melian, are best buddies. They're so funny together. She tall, thin, and beautiful, like a super model, and he's tiny (8lbs) and scruffy. I think it's great that you rescued Skye. And now the female corgi mix. What is her name? It sure sounds like she's had some terrible trauma in her past though. I hope that some day she will accept you as a friend. It just takes time. I'm glad you like the photos of the solar eclipse. We were so lucky. We were right in the centre of the path for prime viewing and the sky was clear for that crucial moment. It was an awesome moment watching it unfold. How are you liking your new A/C unit? I have installed several of those now in and around the place here and they're wonderful! We have the heat pump units so we get both heat and cold. They work really well. I'm glad you are enjoying your new tank. Any new fish in it yet? I hope you're enjoying some nice summer days. It's pretty hot here but not too bad. Hi! That's a great price, but sadly, no, Im all set with what I have, and no room for another. He should try selling it on Craigslist or an add in a local paper. Even e bay.
