sup dude! i am giving a shot at pleco breeding! i have a 20 gallon with 4 plecos i bought a week ago (my LFS dude said that only 90% of bushy nose plecos are female, so if these aren't i will have to get some more and try again)1 tiger barb, 2 long-fin danios, 1 fully matured albino bushy nose pleco and one yo-yo loach. do you think i will need to remove these when my plecos start to breed, and i also have driftwood and a blueish vase that is translucent, the guy said that they will bread in a vase just perfectly. so i am asking you, the expert, for some advice. if you can stop by my place and give me some tips, that would be great. some other things you might want to know is my temperature is 80-82 degrees and i feed them omega one veggie rounds. do i need to lower my water level, change temp, filtration, plants, ect. also, my LFS dude said that romaine lettuce and zucchini are good. we didn't have any zucchini at the time, so i put the lettuce in. its just lettuce floats, i tried to pin it and stuff, but it wouldn't work. do i need to buy an algae clip? any other help is very much appreciated. THANK YOU!!! BTW here is a vote! @(^_^)@ 0_0 ^_^ >_<Come visit me, kibbs 3, kibbs & kibbs 2.

Update Plecos are EVERYWHERE! Not sure what to do about this, but have contacted the LFS to see if they want to buy some off me. They're cute little buggers, but they breed like guppies!Come visit me, 29g Planted Angel Tank, Backyard Pico Scape, Basement 55 Gallon & 30g Planted Pleco Tank.

Making Room Well, I've relocated all inhabitants of this tank other than the plecos, who are rapidly multiplying such that they take up the entire tank. I also swpped out some of the plants - the higher-light specimens are now mostly downstairs in my basement 55gallon, which has (DIY) CO2, and I pulled some Anubias specimens from there for this tank. They were growing a little too much algae in their former home, so now the baby plecos are all rasping away at the leaves :)Come visit me, 29g Planted Angel Tank, Backyard Pico Scape, Basement 55 Gallon & 30g Planted Pleco Tank.

Thanks Everyone :) Glad you all like the tank. To those wondering, yes, I am breeding the plecos... or, rather, they're multiplying like rabbits. All it takes is a good cave for the male to hide in, a steady diet of veggies and driftwood to gnaw on, and a little patience - they take care of all the rest :D I'm going to have to move some of the juvies to a grow out tank soon, though; they're really starting to overcrowd the tank!Come visit me, 29g Planted Angel Tank, Backyard Pico Scape, Basement 55 Gallon & 30g Planted Pleco Tank.
