no the tank water isn't green. it does kind of look like it in the picture though. haha. every time take a pic of any of my planted tanks, they always have a greenish tint. maybe it's because i don't have a good camera. :)

You are right about one thing. These plants are beyound out of control. I been keeping a planted tank for a few years now. I have been keeping freash water fish for over 30 years. I love this hobby of ours. My fish love the live plants. It is not that hard to take care of a planted tank. It just takes time to learn on how to take car of one. That cool that you had a planted tank before. How did you like it? I see you went to salt water. Very nice tank you have there.
I do get some algae on my plants. That is part of having a planted tank. The more fast growing plants and Co2 in your tank. The less algae problems you are going to have. My water perimeters are very good. They stay at well below normal ranges each week. All I do is a 30% water change every week. I also fertilize my plants 6 days a week. I love taking care of this tank. Have a great day. Left you a vote.

Thanks for the Update - Sounds like your managing well. I have a lawnmower blenny in my upsatirs "semi-reef" 55 gallong. The guy is a pig, eats everything and anything - Very active. I have three stars, 3 huge feather dusters, a percula clown, blue damsel, arrow crab, 2 peppermints, snails, emeral crab that I haven't seen in 2 weeks LOL, and a LTA - I haven't gone with the corals yet, still workiing on a lighting system and will also have to drill the tank so I can add a better sump and set - up. When I get it all done I will add it to my profile. Well, see ya later and ANOTHER VOTE 4 U !

My Evergreen Starburst Polyp soft coral turned out to NOT be one, but something of the same that is pinkish whtie! They had sent me something totally different from I don't plan on stocking very much else in my tank except coral now. My fish limit is up, my invert limit is beyond due to trying to get some empty shells for the 6 hermit crabs I had, and that only leaves room for a few coral. I'll probably stock it with another soft coral on the bottom (mushroom or maybe a LPS) and a hard coral closer to the out-take (Montipora sp.).

I'll try to get some better pictures, but trying to get pictures of my coral is difficult, and Nemo (my clownfish) likes to move too much. The Black Clown Goby is always hidden during the day, while the Lawnmower Blenny sometimes makes appearances - when HE wants to:P lol.

I'm thankful that my algae bloom (first one) has got under control, but I've got a prob with the crap the animals are leaving (and won't be sucked up by vacume of mine). Other than that, the tank is on the warmish side, from 77 degrees F at night to 80 degrees during the day, but the animals don't seem affected by the warmth, and perimeters are all level and fine.
