So excited!
I am so excited, we put in our first clown breeder tank last night. I have decided pet stores charge way too much for everything and am going to make the jump into my own busines. We are starting with mail order and out of the house pick ups and if sales do well we are going to go into a store front. I started selling and have found it hard to keep up with the demand. I had a guy the other night buy over $100 worth plus I threw inan old power head and a hermit crag for $40. He was so excited, but so was I so everyone was happy. I hope I can continue to serve people like that. I'm not trying to break the rules of selling on here, but if you would like added to our mailing list drop me an email at dward17@gmail.com

Too FAst
Wow the business is almost going too fast, I can barely keep up. But I guess my philosphy of people charging too much and selling cheap is working!

here's a vote, would love to see pics. I need to update mine. I started selling my corals the other day. I think I am just going to take the leap and start my buisness online to begin with. My husband needs to get busy converting the breeding room to a frag room I am running out of room!

Yes I will replace it! I will miss it so much! If I didn't want to take the light off my planted tank to move the salt to a 55 or 75 that I had planned on moving the angel tank too! I really wish this hobby wasn't so expensive!! I will miss the anemone though, we have a ball at feeding time!

hi
I got your blog, I'm guessing your talking about the life span of clowns. My tomato clowns I've had since they were small, that was 8 yrs ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if they do live 15 yrs. Mine are still laying eggs, wish I could save them. I hope I just didn't jinks myself! lol! sending a vote your way, have a great week end!

Hi
All that new stuff sounds beautiful! I'm envious. I wish I had some money to do some re-stocking. I'm thinking after the over heating episode I had that my tank is looking very drab. I lost a few pieces. I have a damselfish that ruined my xenia too! He looked me right in the eye and ripped it right up! All of it and it was doing so nicely. It had turned into a lovely little forest. Nice to have you back and I'm looking forward to seeing pictures when you get your new stuff well acclimated to your tank. Take care.

Its been sad, the tank is doing great, started fragging some of my corals which was exciting! The sad part is that my anenome is outgrowing my tank and I am afraid he will sting my corals os I guess I am going to hae to get rid of him! I wish I didn't but don't want my corals stung!

Thanks for the kind words
Hey I always stayed away from dwarf angelfish because the are known to be coral nippers - especially LPS and giant clam mantels. Sometimes feeding them more algae will stop this bad behavior. Here's a vote.

Hiya
Whaja get, whaja get? Dying to know! Must have been some nice pieces. Were they Pacific east? Frags or larger pieces? Post some pictures when you get around to it. If you like the frags, try Reefgardener too. She's raising and selling her own frags. She's a really good aqua gardener and really has a touch for raising corals. www.reefgardener.net Have a great friday night!

Howdy
I'm actually on Pacific East Aquaculture's mailing list and have looked at their site a few times but haven't bought anything from them yet. I've shut myself off for awhile. I have to get my credit cards down to zero balance. The best thing for me to do is stop LOOKING! Then I won't be tempted. Have a good night.

Thanks!
I loaned my good camera to a friend for her daughter's prom and haven't got it back yet. I will get some pics up when I get it back! I just bought some new zoo's on ebay for .99 cents! Never thought I would win that one. I got some other pretty purple ones for $9.99. Shipping was cheap too, so that was a great deal! This is the first time I have made a purchase throught this woman so I hope they turn out well. I picked up a new ocean blue florida ricordea yesterday from phishybuisness in columbus I won on ebay too. I got double what I paid for so that was great too! Anyway, here's your vote for the day!

Hello
I've done both, bought locally and ordered online. Live aquaria is usually very good and has a good selection. I just don't care to be locked down to await shipment and having to pay the large shipping fees. We do have one store about 40 min away that specializes in reef critters and coral and another place a little closer that sells fish and coral too but is not as specialized. We take regular trips to both. A vote for you today.

Hi
Thanks for stopping by. Glad you did. I really like your tank and it's inhabitants. I love the coloring on those marine bettas. Gorgeous fish. We also have a 24g nano tank that I don't have pictures of yet. There's a sally lightfoot crab in there and last night we saw it grab our blenny and drag him into the rocks. Twice but the blenny got away both times. Freaked us out. I guess the crab has got to find a new home if we can catch him. Well, welcome to the club and hope to hear from you again soon. Vote for you.

I've been wanting a white pulsing xenia for a while now, but I haven't been able to find one locally. And shipping prices always make it too much for me to order them. So I keep checking the local store and hoping they will get some in. I suppose I should let them know what I want. Maybe they would get some in for me. I'm just afraid what they would charge for a special order.

Tridacna clam
T-5’s would be better, they are more intense than CF bulbs. You do however have more than 4 watts per gallon with your current setup. That should be sufficient, but if your tridacna clam starts you lose color, move it closer to the lights. Also remember to change your bulbs every 8 to 10 months, this will ensure than the clam and corals will get the light intensity they need.

The picture with the blue mushroom actually is a rock with several of those same mushrooms. They only look that blue when you look at them from above. They might have held their blue color better with better lighting. They were beautiful when I got them, but they aren't as wonderful anymore.

I turns out it would be a 200-mile drive for me, and I don't know when I will ever have a reason to drive through that part of Maryland. So I don't think I'll get to visit anytime soon. Oh, well.

My corals are not doing much of anything except for the green star polyps I got a little while ago. They are spreading like crazy! I plan to switch to reef salt for mixing up my saltwater soon, and someday I'll have to get a better light. Maybe then I'll have more success with my corals.
