Discus -
That I can't tell you other than that mine is 46 gallons and it will soon be too small. I think it would depend on the # of fish you have and if you get them as juveniles, etc. By the way, the juveniles should be cheaper. These are expensive guys! I also recommend buying them from a store who will stand behind their stock and be there to give you advice. I shop for all my fish at two local specialty stores. If you develop a relationship with a local store, they will get to know your tank and be able to help with stocking it, answering questions, etc. Oh, I do have one Discus and one large Angel in a 35 gal hexagon shaped aquarium and they are ok for now but I will soon have to think about moving them to a larger tank. I think they do better in a rectangular, oval or long shape. Hope this helps. Kerry

Yes and no
A lot of people have told me that they are hard to care for but I haven't found that to be true, as long as I do for them what they need. Their water has to be 82-83, they need real good filtration, eat only live bloodworms from feeding cups. I change the water every two weeks, clean the bio wheel at the same time and clean the Fluval monthly. That is it. You might also ask Stokes -43107 his are beautiful! They are stunning and so easy to love, they are responsive when they see you, to your hand moving across the glass, when you are cleaning the tank and seem to love to pose. The only thing is they don't move around a lot so you need to find the right schooling fish if you want a contrast or movement. Good luck, keep me posted. Kerry

yes
I had a beta with my guppies. I had a gate lined down the middle keeping my beta from eating my guppies. But other than that they work fine with other fish
