blue lobster
Hi! Thanks for the vote, and you asked about the care requirements for blue lobsters. Well, there is a few. First of all they do eat fish, so if you decide to house them with fish instead of alone, be warned some maybe become dinner. And they WILL ESCAPE if you dont tape up or block any opening in the top of your tank. You know the spaces around the filters, heater cords, air tubes etc. You have to block all of those. They are not very picky about water temp, ph, and they really dont even need filteration. But unless you want to change the water all the time, I would recomend you have it. They eat shrimp pellets. You also have to be careful about certian water chemicals, you cannot use anything that contains copper (like algee control or had a snail for example) or it will kill it. They also shed their shells every once in a while, you have to be careful with them for a while after the sheding because they will be soft. So dont change the water and scare it, causing it to fly across the tank for about 10 days after it sheds. Also dont remove the shell for at least 5 days. They will eat the sheded shell to gain calicum. After about 5 days if it hasent eaten the full shell, it can be removed. You should not keep more then 1 per tank or you will have fighting. Also though it would take a long time, they can reach up to 1 ft. long so that is something you may think about before buying one. Though I have had mine for over a year and he is only about 4 inches still. I know this sounds like a ton of requirements but all and all they are really easy to care for and so fun to keep. I acutally have a new profile of the tank I keep my losbter in now, he is alone with more room and no fish to dine on. It's somethingsfishy blue lobster cube, if you want to take a look at it.
