Hi It can be costly, once you get the tank setup and going you add coral a little bit at a time. It's taking about 3 years to get it there. I have around 3 to 4 grand invested into my tank but that is with tank and lights and everything. It's not hard to maintain once it is going, I check the water once a week and do a water change once a month. Are you thinking of doing a salt water tank?
