Hi!
My birth city is Pretoria, but I spent the first 8 years of my life in Benoni, not far from where Charlize Theron once lived. We've lived in Roodepoort and Krugersdorp since then. I live in a small township that lies on the outskirts of Krugersdorp. It is developed here, though we do not have traffic lights here if that gives you any idea of how small our town is. I also live near two game reserves, the Lion and Rhino park and Ngonyama Lion Lodge in the Krugersdorp Game Reserve. I work in Rivonia, a district of northern Johannesburg, some distance from where I live. These reserves breed lions and other large cats.
My discus apparently come from Israel, I've been told by my petstore buddy. They are superb fish, great colours and perfect roundness. They are also a lot hardier. The cichlids are bred locally. Aquaria are very popular here. There is a burgeoning industry here, though much of the water treatments and equipment are from the US, Germany, Canada and China.
