Oto catfish and... Hi Bob :). If it was me I would rehome the Pleco (as you had mentioned you might do?) and replace with no less than 3 - preferably 5 oto cats. They like to school together and 1 or 2 would be lonely. The Pleco adds a much larger bioload to the tank then even 5 oto as they are so small. in addition they do not damage plants. Do you know what kind of Pleco you have? if Bristlenose they can get 4- 5 inches but if unknown you may have one that would normally get a foot or larger. I wish I had test kits for phosphates - all the kits can add up cost wise! Good luck and let me know how it turns out :) Kathy
