pleco problem i had the same thing happen when i got an otto the aquarium was really bad and the otto ended up dead because he wouldnt eat the algae i was told that he just didnt like the type that was there i went and got a pleco and he fix it up quick i would try a different type of algae eater and see if that works and if you would rather go a different route then there is a a product by API called alga-fix its a chemical way to treat algae not real sure on the spelling but seem interesting as an option i have never used the stuff but you could look it up and research it hope your able to come up with a fix left vote have a great day
