I agree
A little of both, or better- a little of everything. I have fish, coral, anenomes, inverts., huge copepods, snails, a crab, worms, live rock, live sand, and I was even given something the specialized fish store called live wood. To experiment with an educated guess is how I started, and was very fun getting to the stage I'm at now even though I still am an intermediate salty keeper. But, I did buy a few overpriced books from Petco that were helpful. One was "The New Marine Aquarium" titled "A Step-By-Step Setup & Stocking Guide"
by Michael S. Paletta. Check it out, it's a good book that talks about do's and don'ts. I seem to learn more when they mention that I can't do something instead of not mentioning it. Gotta go, here's a Vote.
