Hi,
Thank you for the vote :) Yes, Discus are not your standard fish to start with LOL. The hobbyist that set me up with them lived close by and tutored me.

I love the big tanks and wish I could get bigger. I am afraid my 50 is the largest I will go at least for the moment ;) I agree that with Discus you would not want an extremely heavy planted tank. Gotta have that swimming room!

When my current fish in the 50 age out I have been thinking of making it a Discus tank with no more then 5 :) I know many of the small fish I have in Chocolate Delight would be fine with Discus but the current stars are my Gourami and the Ram pair. The Ram pair will be going into my Angelfish setup when I convert that 29 Gal to a 45 Gal that I already purchased. Oh, I would love Discus again and I think they would love my naturally soft well water. Out of the tap it is 6.8 to 6.6 PH depending on season with a low KH of 2-3 and TDS conductivity meter reads 128 Us. Of course I would thin out my plants some....

Thank you for stopping by and telling me about your history and setup :)
