Thank you! To answer your question on how long - I have been in and out with a period of no tank in between :) In the early 80's a local discus hobbyist on my street got me setup with a 55 and 5 Blue Discus. With his help they did quite well until I had to return them due to moving. I then setup the 55 in a funky cabin with egg smelling water (so trucked the water in from town)and attempted african cichlids. This is in the day with no internet and one magazine subscription. I used a diatomaceous (sp?) type filter and did large water changes so they did well but unfortunately I got species that did not get along it was always war. LOL Then I gave the cichlids away and sold the tank in 1991 because we moved here to Alaska. It was not until 2006 that I got back into it when my husband gave me a 4 gal baby biorb :) The rest is history and I never looked back what with all the information at your finger tips, books, and magazines :) Leaving votes!
